Dave Matel

BandPopSinger/Songwriter

Fresh but familiar, I'm always willing to learn and grow in my writing and as a person.

Biography

Where do I begin? Piano has been a part of my life since I was 4. I remember listening to the Beatles as a young child being captivated by their sound, it definitely made a life long impact on me and my music. I think I've gone thru every stage a writer can go through, from discovery to the angry period, to now where I'm finally feeling balanced.
As of now I do everything myself from writing to producing, and I would have to describe my music as Fresh and Familiar. I care about melodies and my words reaching people and making them feel something, whether good or bad. I don't know what tomorrow will bring but I do know as long as I can still create and grow as an artist I'm ready for any challenge that comes my way.

Lyrics

Woman

Written By: Dave Matelske Jr.

She always trips before she falls into
Another wall that she put up
Then she laughs before she cries just in time
To realize what she has done
Why do you bring yourself so low
Is it because you think you don’t measure up?

Woman you got to know that it’s so wrong
To set yourself up for this all
Woman you know you got to look for something more
Than what you’ve got

So take your memories off the shelf
Pack them away with all your dreams
Cuz you think it’s enough just to
Be what you can’t be
There’s so much more to see

Woman you got to know that it’s so wrong
To set yourself up for this all
Woman you know you got to look for something more
Than what you’ve got

Woman look for something more (what you’ve got)
Woman look for something more

She always trips before she falls into
Another wall that she put up
Then she laughs before she cries just in time
To realize what she has done

Woman you got to know that it’s so wrong
To set yourself up for this all
Woman you know you got to look for something more
Than what you’ve got

Woman look for something more (what you’ve got)
Woman look for something more

Here is Now

Written By: Dave Matelske Jr.

Here is Now

Don’t you think it’s time to try
Another way to see
Another way to be
A different way of what you’re doin’
Thinking’ time is on your side
Your papa’s on the phone
You disconnect the call
Find the magic dust to keep you flying

High

Has anyone tried to love you
Turn you around Take you off
This endless ride
Hold your heart to keep you grounded
Don’t believe I’ll understand
What it means
To be so lost
It’s more just to be here
Am I lost without you

Here is now
Gotta forget somehow
Turn away run to that new beginning
There so much left
Then what you’ve missed
The sun will shine
Tomorrows callin’
I can see you want to be free
Come to me
Break the chains that bind you
Your mind won’t heal
What your heart won’t feel
But I’ll hold you thru
Your someday fallin’

Do you still wake up in the sweat
Someone standing there
Feel it all around you
The needle helps to keep it drowning
When you wake up your alone
Nothing has it’s place
Cold and it’s dark
But your heart’s still beating

Here is now
Gotta forget somehow
Turn away run to that new beginning
There so much left
Then what you’ve missed
The sun will shine
Tomorrows callin’
I can see you want to be free
Come to me
Break the chains that bind you
Your mind won’t heal
What your heart won’t feel
But I’ll hold you thru
Your someday fallin’

I can feel your breath
Shallow and deep
Yeah
I’ll be the air that you need to breathe
To keep you holding on
Believe in me feel you needing to see

Here is now
Gotta forget somehow
Turn away run to that new beginning
There so much left
Then what you’ve missed
The sun will shine
Tomorrows callin’
I can see you want to be free
Come to me
Break the chains that bind you
Your mind won’t heal
What your heart won’t feel
But I’ll hold you thru
Your someday fallin’
