The best kept secret in music

"...Red hot ...the energy that pours from this timeless cut is worth it's weight in ivory... Osoff is a musical chameleon, capable of swinging from rock, pop, funk and fusion, to R&B, gospel, blues and boogie..." - Greg Rule

"...a refreshingly original album...After only listening to a few cuts it is obvious that Osoff is a master of the ivories as well as being a proficient and clever songwriter-arranger...a cohesive sound that is distinctly their own...Song after song rings with a freshness and vitality...grooves with intensity and an infectious danceability...Osoff strikes gold with his multidimensional ‘Mosaic’. An outstanding body of work!" - Douglas Sloane

"Outstanding keyboard player...he co-produced the cd and he is definitely the stuff."
-LA Joe, Boston Soundcheck Magazine - Album review

"His special touch on ballads like Even Now (I Think of You), Destiny, Hannah, and Undercover is a story by itself, but when he cuts loose on an up tempo number, it simply astounds to be within earshot...This release was selected as being among the best of 2002 by The Jazz Nation's Executive Staff and at internet station WBLZ-Blazeradio. Another crown jewel among musicians residing in or near the great city of Boston, Massachusetts." -May, 2003 - Albert Khalis Pride

"The best thing I can say about Dave Osoff's cd is thathe performs the kind of music I listen to on my time off. I don't force myself to enjoy this music, I just let the instrumental jazz and pop roll right over me, as I catch up on email, write another book or do some scanning. As far as I know (and here I'll retire the 'I'), that's the best compliment a reviewer can give. Dave has been touring and/or performing in the New England area for the last 14 years. And yet this is his debut instrumental album. You wouldn't guess it. The poetry of these 12 lyricless songs is pretty damn cool. To call it jazz alone is to rob its energy from those of you who assume that jazz only means mellow, smooth or smoky. The lite rock/pop element is like the wick of this candle. You can't light it otherwise. Listening to the title track, with that blast of sax and solo moments of electrified organ, well, Dave had better follow up this release with another, if this is truly what he's capable of." - Ben Ohmart (Assistant Editor)

"...a standout for its enthuiasm, variety and invention." - Paul Robicheau

"Stunning musicianship, lots of dynamics, and a varied approach to songwriting." - Bob Cianco

"Dave and the band have killer chops, slammin' grooves, and - most importantly -great songs. My personal fave is the LP's title cut, 'Mosaic', which sounds great in both 'The Groove Boutique', my weekend show, and 'The Groove Boutique Blends', my weekday mini-mixes. If you dig funky jazz, you should be all over this album!"
-Rafe Gomez, D.J./host - 'The Groove Boutique', America's first and only nationally syndicated jazz mix show. - Rafe Gomez, CD101.9 - FM, NYC

Feeling a bit camera shy

Dave Osoff's debut cd 'Mosaic' showcases his versatile songwriting and keyboard artistry. Joined by all star players such as Amadee Castenell (recorded/performed with Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, Branford Marsalis), and Scott Murawski (performed with Max Creek, Phish), Osoff unleashes a stunning medley of composition ranging from contemporary jazz to funk, with flavors of pop, latin, R&B and electronica.

"A standout for its enthusiasm, variety and invention"- Paul Robicheau, The Boston Globe

A vocal version of the groove catchy 'On Our Way ' from the cd was recently selected by United Airlines for an in flight promotion, and by the New England Sports Network for a recent skiing production, and the track 'QX5' has been licensed to The Fuel Network for the women's action sports show, 'GKA'.

'On Our Way', 'Daybreak', and the funky album tracks 'Why Not' and Mosaic' are currently in rotation on major market smooth jazz stations in New York City, Toronto and Denmark, as well as on the #1 online jazz station, 'SmoothJazz.com', and have also received extensive airplay on many stations in the live 365 internet radio network, the Boston area college radio market and other college radio markets around the US.

Dave has been featured in internationally distributed Keyboard Magazine, was featured in a cover story in Boston's Metronome Magazine in January, 2003, and has also been recently featured in many online music communities, including 'jazzreview.com', Musicidish industry e-journal, and 'thejazznation.com'.

Osoff has performed at over 200 clubs throughout the US, and has played and/or recorded with many artists, including Rounder recording artist Michelle Wilson and Evil Gal, Tone-Cool/Northern Blues artist
Tony Lynn Washington, dynamic Boston blues / R+B / funk/ soul artists, Vykki Vox Band and Nicole Nelson, touring funk/jam bands Jiggle and Max Creek, innovative songwriters Pat Burtis, Jennifer Matthews and Jordan Carp, and the live trance/electronica of Nikulydin.
From the adventurous jazz/funk of 'Why Not?’, the blistering techno-rock of ‘QX5’, and the hypnotic grooves of 'Hannah', to the high energy funk and R&B of 'Freedom/Rising', and the musical journeys of ‘Daybreak’ and ‘Undercover’, Dave Osoff's music offers a unique approach - powerful melodies, hooks and inventive arrangements are featured, with plenty of spontaneous improvisation and musical interaction in the recordings and on stage.

This is a group effort; with each player being featured in different settings throughout the set, often sharing melodies, and interweaving with one another.

These are musicians who have been working together for years, and have a unique musical synergy and an intensity of spirit and groove that delivers many rewards and surprises to the listener.

This album and it’s title track, the hard driving funk of ‘Mosaic,’ marks the first collaboration with premier New Orleans tenor saxophonist and flautist, Amadee Castenell, who’s fiery and soulful melodies take the music to even greater heights. Dave and Amadee are now writing and recording music for the next release.

Dave Osoff has performed in numerous festivals and conferences around the US, including SXSW, NEMO (Boston), Burlington Music Conference (Burlington, VT, Mobfest (Chicago), Rockrgrl (Seattle, WA) and the Millenium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA, and has shared bills/stages with many national / international acts, including Little Feat, Spindoctors, Widespread Panic, Rusted Root, The Samples, Radiators and many more.
