Bio

The story of singer, songwriter Dave Pahanish began in south-western Pennsylvania. He was born just outside of Pittsburgh in the early 70’s and his musical career started as a piano student. While waiting for a lesson one-summer afternoon, the sounds of a guitar rehearsal next door caught his ear. From that moment he was inseparable from his guitar.
Pahanish spent the years to come writing songs about life, death, love, and humanity. He perfected his craft playing in coffeehouses and busking in parks across Middle America. These travels created the stories of Anywhere.
The songwriting on Anywhere is not its only commodity. The clarity and
vibrato in Dave's voice creates the illusion that some of the songs are whispered into the listener's ear. Performing Songwriter Magazine describes him as…” a full voice that embodies the earthiness of Tracy Chapman and the warmth of Don Mclain.”
With the release of Dave's sophomore album "Shine", he has found himself
touring extensively around the US as well as internationally selling nearly 10,000
cds at his shows alone. His band puts on a powerful show filled with energy yet
maintains the intimacy that the music demands. They mix up acoustic songs with
energetic showstoppers that sends the audience on an emotional roller coaster
ride that has been described by many fans as a spiritual experience. ABC News describes Dave Pahanish as….” terrific and inspiring”. Val Brkich summed it up in E Resource Magazine when he wrote: “ He has the boyish charm or John Mayer, the guitar-mastery of Eric Clapton, and the song-writing wisdom of James Taylor—however, given the choice, I’d rather see Dave Pahanish than all three of them.”
Along the road, Dave Pahanish has shared the stage with artists such as: Todd
Rundgrenn, Rusted Root, Bill Mallonee and the Vigilantes of Love, Foghat,
Michael Johnson, Humble Pie, Head East, Cracker, Adrian Legg, Jim Carroll,
Lenny Kaye, The Clarks, and many, many others.
