Bio

dave ross is a singer songwriter with a big voice, serious guitar chops, and a linguistic gift. His songs are good to hear and easy to remember. You won't mind when they get stuck in your head. Skills, songs, looks, and style aside, Dave's energy and stage presence are really what sell this act.

I started writing songs at the age of 3 the first time anyone handed me a guitar. i didn't know how to play it but i remember plucking the strings in a specific order and then trying to do it again the same. i grew up. As a teenager while the other guitarists were learning to shred i would just write. Little tunes, mostly improvised and expanded on them as themes. I would see how little an idea could become how big and involved a song. I went to music school where i really found my voice and promtly dropped out. I came home and started writing solo albums. At first on a four track with found tapes, making the difference with the dutchess of york, executive stress management, and the jump right in recorder instruction tape were my canvas. I would write a song and when finished listen to what the tape had to say, "a jagged line moving in threes..." thats and easy song to write, and so i would. i started going to open mics to get the whole crowd thing down. Other people help in a lot of ways such as how to talk to them, what they want to hear, and how they want to hear it. Eventually i wrote to blank tape an albums worth of music people at shows actually wanted to hear. I played guitar, bass, drums, sang, wrote, recorded, mixed, produced, packaged, and sold "You" a thirteen track, 39 minute album of all original music. that was october 2007. Since i have been writing an awful lot and recording constantly. One project nearing completion is the full album release of "the mend" which is supposedly a remedy for a broken heart. Lots of other stuff too.
