Dave has a supercool way of singing that works very well with
the tongue in cheek humor in his lyrics...Love & Gasoline...get a sweetheart in the car and you are all set.
Way to go, Dave!

"Love and Gasoline is one of the best albums I've heard in the last year. The original material is superb, the covers are witty and unexpected, and the album is intimate and emotionally resonant. The playing is understated and masterful all the way through, and Shapiro's voice, which at first I wasn't sure about, has grown on me to the point where the vocals are now the centerpiece of the CD for me. This is one of those rare, undiscovered jewels -- check it out. "

Bio
Dave Shapiro was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, just down the road from the atom smasher. Some people think the effects of neonatal radiation can show up many years later, but Dave's debut CD, Love & Gasoline, is proof that a few loose gamma rays can produce wonders, especially, when fused with his childhood memories of Hank Williams, the Everly Brothers, Merle Travis and Johnny Cash.
Now, with the release of his self-produced CD, Love & Gasoline, Dave has returned to his roots with an album featuring his wry and poignant songwriting, and some of NYC's best musicians including Kenny Kosek, Barry Mitterhoff, Mike Levine, Pete Vitalone, Sam McPherson, Jim Kendrick, Nicole Paradiso and Eric Troyer.
Oh, and by the way, Dave co-wrote and produced the iconic jazz-tinged theme music for the Charlie Rose show, heard every weeknight on PBS.
