Bio

Dave Tucker is a singer-songwriter hailing from the suburbs of New Jersey and in recent days a sailor on the open roads of America. He grew up in a house where his father played guitar and sang folk songs to his wife & kids. He trained his ear as he listened to his father's Chuck Mangione, John Denver, and Jim Croce records, and his mother's classical records and piano playing.

Rock music wasn’t allowed in the Tucker home, so Dave snuck his fixes here and there, listening to the radio in his dad’s workroom in the basement, changing the station when a parent appeared. With four older sisters, he was able to get some rock and roll in – stealing their tapes to listen to in secret, or getting some listening time in whilst trucking along with one of them in the big ‘ol family station wagon, usually on the way to some or another religious function.
As time went on, he became a fan of DMB, Pink Floyd, The Cure, Crash Test Dummies, Neil Young, The Dead – a smattering of everything.
Dave taught himself to play guitar when he was in 7th grade, and took off from there. He played on the college bar scene in New Brunswick, NJ and entertained in surrounding towns. At first it was mostly covers, but then he started performing his own material which he had begun writing back in high school but seldom brought out of his bedroom.
As time has passed, Dave has created his own sound – heartfelt, full of texture and humour. Dave’s sound is poetry and music combined. He embraces life with enthusiastic energy and weaves his experiences into his music. Sometimes poignant, sometimes silly, always unique!
His latest voyage in life has found him driving cross country, from the Jersey Shore to the Holllywood Hills. He has taken these adventures, along with all of his others, and incorporated them into his new album. Inductive Reasoning
