"Dave Watson, Where Has He Been?"

The lights go down and the audience comes to their feet. Attention goes from their conversations to the stage. The echoes of voices aloud bouncing off of the walls in anticipation of his arrival. All of a sudden there is this "spacey star wars" kind of sound emiting from the stage like I have never heard before. It was then that I noticed the hair standing on my own arms and then my adrenaline started kicking a bit. Sound started evolving throughout the room. I have heard about Dave Watson show before but never did I expect a "country" act to be so involved. Reminescent of something like Deep Purple meets Travis Tritt. That's the only way I can describe it! I'm just sorry that I'm old enough to remember Deep Purple shows! It is obvious Dave Watson is a local favorite in this neck of the woods of Nashville. This guy has the local following second to none. Everyone I spoke to before the show talks about him as a personal friend. A brother of sorts. I saw why throughout the show. Not only does he cover songs that are sing alongs but this audience knew every word to his own tunes as well.
Then there it was - this musical explosion from what has to be five of the best musicians I think I have ever seen or heard in a "country" act and I have been covering bands for 20+ years. Dave's originality of his song writing to his imagination of stage antics are beyond compare. From his stage show to his song selection you will be entertained from beginning to the end. An act that can entertain ME from one song to the next is hard to find. I have to admit I went to cover this story with scepticism in tow. I thought "what the hell....another boring country act". This just wasn't the way I wanted to spend my Saturday night. Boy was I wrong!
In conclusion, if you ever get the chance to catch Dave Watson and his group "The Smokin' Section", don't hesitate to do so. Hats off to you Dave....keep rocking the stage doing that thing you do and you will go very far in this industry.

The early 2008 explosion of "Better Off Late Than Never" is Dave's first CD release and is getting attention from Nashville as well as radio. He wrote or co-wrote everything on his freshman CD and WOW is all we can say. Where has this guy been??!!
There is a constant flow of interest in Dave's music and this CD promises to pave the way for more things to come. Including a new CD slated to go into production sometime in the Fall 2008.
"Better Off Late Than Never" promises to unfold cuts for Dave as a songwriter in Nashville as well.
