David Coppa & Scrapple

Influenced by many artists and genres from Philadelphia’s diverse music scene and the Texas blues legends, David Coppa’s music could be considered a mix of electric blues and blues rock. He has played alongside Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Ronnie Earl, Marcia Ball, Johnny Clyde Copeland, Sonny Rhodes, Luther Guitar Junior Johnson, Bo Diddly and Lonnie Shields to name a few. This singer, songwriter and gutty guitarist has learned to take chances, and serve up a mix of musical flavors from Albert Collins to Chuck Berry to Jimi Hendrix.

Scrapple has been seasoned with a rhythm section that has featured Pat Coppa on Bass and a plethora of proven percussionists on the pot & pans including Ray Williams, Adrian Harpham, David Esposto, Paul Ramagano and Phil Cialini. Justin Coppa is currently holding the sticks and Pat McCann is now on keys. Coppa's own songs range from the fast paced, rockin’ “Boogie All Night” from his first CD,“Storm” to their anthem like, instrumental, “ Slow” from “make a change” and more traditional shuffles like “Mine All Mine”.

David Coppa & Scrapple have played Blues festivals from coast to coast and continue to play festivals and more intimate venues featuring his original music. His latest CD, is a live one with the late, Bluesman, James “Thunderbird” Ford. The CD, “Live N’ Long” captured their musical partnership over the years with some old classics and some of Ford’s compilations with Darryl Ray from Chubby Checker’s band and Tommy Conwell & The Little Kings on Sax.
