Bio
David Hart is an Innu from Sheshatshiu, Labrador, Canada. Born on March 14, 1977, he was raised in the traditional way of life by his Grandparents Mani and Michel Pasteen, an upbringing he carries and practices with pride and honour. David spent a large part of his youth helping his
grandfather hunt and fish. As today,
David started his music career at the age of 16 as a backup for other musicians in his teens. He gradually began performing his own vocals. His music is in the traditional Innu tongue, and tunes to the likes of Creedence Clearwater Revival. In 2012, he released his debut album, which brought him exposure in Quebec, Ontario, Nunavut and Nunavik. He has shared the stage with many talented musicians like Troopers, Johnny Reid and Kashtin, to name a few. He performed in Innu communities across Labrador and Quebec north shore, the Cree communities on the east coast of James Bay, Algonquin, Attikamekw and Inuit communities and urban cities such as Montreal, Ottawa and Gatineau.
David is also an motivational speaker, raising awareness on suicide and promoting life with culture. Being indigenous is something to be proud of, he is sharing his life experience to youths.
A second album is currently in progress which will be launched in the coming year of 2019.
