Bio

Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA to a school teacher and an airline executive, the music business was the last place anyone expected to find David Allen Dope. His childhood aspirations varied from Egyptology to astronaut to professional basketball player. It wasn't until middle school that he was completely smitten by the world of Hip-Hop. Going by the moniker "d.Lil", he co-founded a rap group with a few of his closest friends: The Cold Daddio$. Shortly after, he recorded his first song, "You Know What It Is", which was featured on his MySpace page and welcomed with a few hundred hits. The young emcee soon realized he had a knack for composing verses and was convinced he found his calling. He obsessively committed himself to perfecting his craft. Dropping out of high school in 2006 only furthered his ambition to succeed in the music industry. A year later David Allen Dope relocated to Fort Worth, TX to get a fresh start. He would receive his GED, attend the local community college, and briefly hustled. In 2009 he was signed to an independent label and got a first hand taste of shady the game can be. Although his career never truly benefited from the deal, it proved to be a much needed learning experience and acquainted him with super producer, Pree. The two would part ways the label and team up to embark on their own journey to break into the local music scene. Thus, the Villain Music Group was born. On October 31, 2011 Everybody's Favorite Rapper released his first official project, Peer Pressure, a mix-tape that was described as "a breath of fresh air" among Hip-Hop enthusiasts. His intricate wordplay, mind bending punchlines, and vivid imagery touch the soul, and has all his fans asking one question, "What's next?" If this is a sign of things to come, then the sky is the limit for this West-coast wordsmith. With new projects in the works and no inclination of slowing down, we are sure to get "high off this dope" for a long, long time. So sit back, buckle up, and enjoy the ride. Oh yeah, don't forget the D,Y.
