"Seasons Landscape and Travelling"

"There's a kind of listening I sometimes employ when I listen to new local music that I call "rooting". It's a listening where one ear is always trying to find excuses or encouragement to build the music up into something I think it aspires to whether it really gets there or not. And if there is any local artist I would be inclined to root for, it would be David Bowers, whose spare, evocative songs of life east of the mountains aim very near my heart.
But Bowers' new CD Postcard doesn't need any rooting or sentimental sense of place to be enjoyed. It doesn't have to choke up on the bat to hit a home run. It is a gem and I am happy to be the first to tell you so." - The Source Weekly, Josh Beddingfield

“One of the very finest among Bend's songwriters and acoustic guitarists… a warmly rootsy, Oregon-grown aesthetic and enthralling stage presence.”
----Jeff Trainor, The Source Weekly

"We're big fans of the David Bowers Colony. They were performing at Silver Moon Brewing's Halloween Party and I played didgeridoo during a freestyle jazz piece, A Deep Snow. I had a blast (ha ha). David Bowers is a wonderful guy, with a great band, and we love their music".

Bio

The David Bowers Colony was cultivated out of the mind of front-man David Bowers, who is blessed by having ridiculously talented musicians in his corner willing to play his works. The individual players in the Colony are influenced by a wide, wide range of genres, from bluegrass to indie rock, metal, and film noir.
The fact that no matter the size of the band---from its genesis as bass + guitar, or as a five-piece---these influences shine through within a collective vision, due to the skills of all the players. No one else sounds like them, because of their unique perspective, here on the edge of the great Oregon desert. And 'cause they play the hell out of their instruments. And they adore each other. And they love to dance...
