"Album Review of -All Grown Up-"

The band’s music is so creative that it cannot be pigeon-holed to any particular style. But that is part of its charm and what makes the music so enjoyable. - Reviewbrain

"Metropolitan Magazine: Album Release Concert Listing"

Born in southern New York state, David Cevoli grew up listening to his parents' folk, blues, and jazz records. After living in Spain, Italy, and New York City in the past decade, both the Americana folk-rock genre and traditional as well as modern European genres have made their way into Cevoli's music. The result is a unique blend of worldly influences with constant Sixties and Seventies singer-songwriter undertones.
The David Cevoli Band has gained an intensely loyal following in the Barcelona area, as they have lived here and played all over the city since 2010. - Metropolitan Magazine, Barcelona

"Rockzone Magazine: Album Review of -All Grown Up- December 2011"

Bio

David developed his style among the lakes and mountains of southern NY State, singing the songs of the many folk, blues & rock songwriters that he discovered in his parents’ record collection. In his early years, he focused his creative energies on writing poetry and fiction, but at the age of 22 he took up the guitar with dedication and started learning to use music as a tool for poetic composition. It quickly took over as his main creative medium. During the last decade and a half of moving between Italy, Spain & NYC, he’s been influenced by a wide variety of genres, from the earliest jazz to traditional flamenco, from Neapolitan street music to Indian classical. The singer-songwriters of the 60s & 70s, however, still seem to reverberate most deeply in his music. His solo debut album -In the Black Space-, produced by Thurman Bryan of Austin, Texas, was released on February 12th, 2011.
David resides in Barcelona, Spain, where he and his band have developed an enthusiastic following since they began playing throughout the city and its environs in the spring of 2010. Lead guitarist Pau Ors, formerly of the Algerian rock group Chaqulalá, intensifies the band’s blues and rock elements, while bassist Josep Montañés wields his instrument with a unique melodic sensibility that creates a profoundly rich supporting texture to David’s strumming and vocals. The band spent a formative period without drums, during which time they developed and refined their style of interweaving guitar and bass arrangements, while a simple cajón backed them up on percussion. However, with the recent of addition of Catalan drummer Jordi Farreras, the sound has now been filled out to its true rhythmic and percussive potential. Their live shows are notable for their ever-growing diversity of genre-mingling and their intensity of poetic lyricism. They recently released a new album of original material, entitled “All Grown Up”, which was presented at the Harlem Jazz Club on October 31st, 2011: Halloween!
