I am a very versatile guitar player and can cover any genre, hard bop to down-home blues and funk. I have a soulful and energetic feel. I incorporate a lot of rhythmic ideas in my melodic phasing.

Biography

David Clyde Weaver had his first guitar lesson at age ten and has not put it down since nor stopped growing as a musician. During high school, Dave continued formal music studies at the Montpelier Conservatory of Music in Vermont. After attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston between 1980 and 1984, he relocated to Los Angeles to attend the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood for advanced study. He has been active in the Southern California music scene for two decades, with emphasis on jazz, pop, R&B, and blues.

Following a U.S. tour with the iconic Box Tops and Drifters, Dave played various jazz venues around LA and began recording diverse projects, including studio recordings for LA-area musicians CDs and cable television music. Mr. Weaver also has been in demand for private parties, and corporate functions spanning architect’s conventions to fertility clinics.

In addition to a busy gigging schedule, Dave has found time to mentor the next generation of local musicians through visits to the Los Angeles Music Academy (LAMA) in Pasadena. Ever expanding his repertoire and technique through diligent practice, Dave is available for gigs in various genres.

Set List

Depends on what is asked of me. For a Jazz gig I would play Standards, Some Brazilian music and jazzy pop standards.

For Pop or Blues in a band situation I would play whatever is asked of me.
