The best kept secret in music

"Performance Painter Shows His Moves On Canvas"

David Garibaldi, a Sacramento-area artist who dances and paints to music, will perform as part of a fundraiser to help the Sacramento Children's Home.

"I feel like I have this opportunity, I have this platform, and I want to use it to give back in a sense," Garibaldi said Thursday during a visit to KCRA 3. "I know it sounds cliche, but it's very real."

Garibaldi rehearses for his painting displays, just as a musician would practice before performing live music.

He painted a large picture of Michael Jackson in a KCRA 3 studio in less than 10 minutes, dancing and quickly painting as a soundtrack of the King of Pop's music played.

Garibaldi will appear at the Luxe for Life event, which is set for 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Sacramento Executive Jet Center at 6133 Freeport Blvd. in Sacramento.

"Disney Fine Art LIVE! Presents the Art of David Garibaldi"

Garibaldi will entertain, engage and inspire audiences of all ages with a live performance of art creation that he calls "Rhythm and Hue" — the fantastic combination of music and color. Garibaldi's energetic live performances have been seen around the country at high-profile venues such as NBA half-time shows, the opening act for "The Blue Man Group" and performances at Graceland for Elvis Presley's birthday celebrations. An official artist of the Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley estates, as well as an official artist of Disney Fine Art, this performance will be a memorable experience for everyone who attends. The Garibaldi performance will be the opening entertainment for the D23 Expo Live Auction. Garbibaldi's performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the D23 Arena. D23 Expo admission is required to enter the venue. - Disney

Still working on that hot first release.

David Garibaldi's energetic live performances have been seen all around the country at high-profile venues such as NBA half-time shows, the opening act for "The Blue Man Group".

Born in Los Angeles in 1982, Garibaldi began creating at a young age. It was not until high school, after walking away from a life of graffiti in the streets, that he turned his influences of hip hop culture into a positive direction. Unfortunately by then, it was too late to make up lost time in school, and he could not graduate. A season of hard times to come could not shake the drive of this young artist from pursuing his dreams.

In 2003, David Garibaldi began to turn his illustrations on paper into paintings on canvas. Garibaldi would paint live at urban jazz sessions, nightclubs, and hip hop events for direct influence by the music, and he began to create a buzz about his work along the way. In addition to David Garibaldi’s urban jazz influenced paintings, he naturally created a live performance art show called Rhythm and Hue.

Rhythm and Hue is a Performance art show by world renown artist David Garibaldi. Garibaldi creates 6 foot portraits of pop icons, CEO’s, rock stars, sports figures, and more. Each painting is created in a matter of minutes to music.

“As soon as I step on stage I’m all over the place. I’m throwing paint, entertaining the audience, and making sure the portraits still look good. Who said the artist has to stay in the studio? The stage is where I feel the most free,” says David about his unique show. If there are any artists breaking the creative boundaries between the studio and stage, this young 24 year old artist is leading the way. Performances by David Garibaldi have included celebrities, CEO’s, politicians, pro athletes, and audiences around the world which consist of various concerts, private parties, corporate meetings and other large scale events. Garibaldi can also be seen featured on various networks like MTV, NBC, UPN, PBS, in addition to worldwide publications.

David Garibaldi’s original portraits range from Ray Charles, and John Lennon, to Jay Z, and Bono.

Rhythm and Hue is not just art in concert entertainment, but a means to highlight David’s talent as a motivational speaker in addition to his ability to captivate audiences around the world. “I use Rhythm and Hue as a platform to inspire lives, and that is the reason I do this,” says David, he also adds “We all need inspiration sometimes, and no matter what age group attends my shows, they all leave the same....inspired!”

David Garibaldi’s Rhythm and Hue has proven to be a total knockout performance, and a show you will never forget.

Much like a musician, David Garibaldi will continue to create his paintings in the studio, and hit the road to captivate audiences around the world. Whether Garibaldi is in the studio, or on stage, he is Rhythm, Color, Culture, Energy.
