David & Goliath

When longtime friends Drew DelRosario and Andrew Conner conceived David and Goliath in early 2010, it was aptly named for their respective heights. But what began as a tall guy/short guy joke quickly evolved into a tale about overcoming challenges, defying odds and pursuing dreams. With the addition of Mark Antes on bass and Shawn Rana on drums, D&G embarked on a journey to win the hearts and minds of fans and leave an indelible mark on the Chicago music scene.

Armed with a handful of songs from years past, the band set out to book shows, gain exposure, and further develop their unique brand of rock music. In just a few short months, and with no insider connections or vast sums of marketing dollars, David and Goliath had already graced the stages of Chicagoland staples such as Double Door, Cubby Bear, and Penny Road Pub. With the upcoming release of their first E.P., new doors will undoubtedly open as the band continues to blaze a path across the city.

Often compared to such bands as Breaking Benjamin and 30 Seconds to Mars, David and Goliath’s music can best be described as two parts emo, two parts hard rock, and one part blues. Melodic vocals blend with bone-crunching rhythms and catchy lead lines that will leave you humming the riffs as well as the melodies. The lyrics are sure to resonate with the audience as they pour out from the stage. The music revolves around common themes such as self actualization, finding your way, and knowing that your worth more than your criticisms.
