I'm David Guitard AKA DG, a Professional Recording Artist from New Brunswick, Canada! I'll be releasing my future works under DG Records, a U.S. Record label! My first retail album 'ONE' was released May 1st, 2013!
Through the release of my first retail album 'ONE' that was released May 1st, 2013, I've learned a great deal about other artists, promoting, marketing & much more!I was singing very young & had a musical family and many great artists have an impact on my music,, whether it be Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, Bob Dillon including my favorite Canadian band 'The Tragically Hip'! Also harder bands like Metallica & Guns & Roses, the genre I play is Folk/Pop/Rock with also a 'Soft Rock' sound!
As an indie artist my time has involved a great deal with healing, learning & growing in so many ways because of a traumatic head injury from a fall in 2003! I'd been in a coma for 10 days & in the hospital two months with a lengthy recovery taking almost nine years! Before this though I'd gone to College for Electronics Engineering & University for Psychology with a resume three pages long that I could write out by heart! After the injury though, I could not remember anything from my past having problems with memory, speech, site & movement! My guitar ironically being the first thing I asked for in the hospital and I played music almost everyday with of course the marketing and promoting of my craft offline for years and also started online in 2012 which had become an important part of my career,, Which this of course is how I had become recognized! I Was told by my neuro-psychologist that my brain had healed 100% from the injury in Feb. 2012 and continued with having my music be one of the most important parts of my healing and life! I've been interviewed by many including my cities newspaper, The Northern Light which was in the August 9th, 2016 paper and everyone was in total agreement that music was a big part of my healing process!
My faith is strong, I thank God and also the lost loved ones that watch over me,, do believe I've been truly blessed to have pulled through it all & now keeping me stronger than I've ever been! I had and continue to dedicate my life to both music and healing after getting my old guitar in the hospital,, which now I of course also have my fiancé included with these two things that I dedicate my life too! I'm sure proud to have achieved everything I have after everything I've been through with a wonderful outlook for my future, being a better man & stronger than I've ever been & enjoying living as clean a life as I can..
Putting the time needed into my career is now the norm which includes putting the time into marketing and promoting my career, playing, writing and recording music! Now with friends and fans in hundreds of countries around the world, enjoying the comments, posts & messages of blessings that I try to give my time to respond to when I can! So many express how they love my music, my videos and me, this is also something else that makes me feel very blessed!
It makes all those times I remember cursing my fingers worthwhile, when they would be so bloody and sore that I could not bring a sound from my guitar anymore, not being able to push the strings at all! I can honestly say that I love everything that I do in my career and hope to be able to do this for many decades to come!! I grew up a farm-boy, worked in 25+ venues of work, have been educated, have many experiences that have made me the man I am but can honestly say that I am now fully a musician at heart! This is what I plan to do throughout the rest of my life for myself, family, friends and fans! Please remember to treat those around you with love and respect! Take care of your family and yourself!
