Lyrics

Constantly Midnight

Written By: David Henson

The sun don’t shine no more on this town...
‘Cause there ain’t nothing left to see.
No more movies showing at “The Crystal.”
The cafe’s closing down next week...

Raggedy man stands there on the corner...
And an old, old suitcase on the ground.
Tells me he used to be a lawyer...
Before his world came crashing down.

The sign on 1st church says there’s victory...
But God left this town so long ago.
The clock on the courthouse stopped at 12 o’clock sharp...
I guess now everybody knows..
Constantly midnight.

The light don’t shine no more in your eyes...
Your skin on mine as cold as snow,
Falling out there in the darkness.
I’ve seen enough winters now to know.

Remember how you loved me back in high school?
You said I’d always have your heart.
We thought our love would get stronger and stronger
But you know nothing grows here in the dark...

Did he tell you that he loved you...
When you went to him last week?
It was two a.m. when you walked through that door.
But time had already stopped for me... constantly midnight.

Crazy Here With Me

“crazy here with me”
words and music copyright 2011 by kinsey charles & david henson

you're used to seeing people walk away
but i have never had my back to you
you're so busy building up your walls
that you haven't really seen me here at all

there are times we all go crazy
there are times you run away
with your dreams all in tatters
and your tail between your legs
and your tail between your legs

there you are fumbling in the doorway
but you can't ever find the keys
when you are blinded by your darkness
i will be your eyes to see

there are times we all go crazy
there are times you cannot see
until the day you find your answers
you can be crazy here with me
you can be crazy here with me

there are times we all go crazy
there are times you cannot see
until the day you find your answers
you can be crazy here with me
you can be crazy here with me

The Rest of You

The Rest of You
music and lyrics copyright 2010 by david henson all rights reserved

Here in the night, I'm lost in this moment.
My friends say it's just attitude that's got me feeling this way.
There's nothing I can do.

You're watching his eyes, he's watching yours.
You think there's nothing to lose.
And you're right I guess... you've got the right to choose.

Isn't it funny how how our love songs get lost in the blues.
I lost your eyes and your smile, I lost the will to refuse.
I lost your laughter and your kisses to somebody new.
And tonight I guess...
I'll lose the rest the you.

I remember the nights, we were lost in our passion,
To think we were dreams coming true...
Was a little naïve I guess, but that's what dreamer's do.

Now I play this guitar – up in the spotlight...
Try to play a few happy tunes.
Then you dance by again in his arms and I'm too weak to move.

Isn't it funny how how love songs get lost in the blues.
I lost your eyes and your smile, I lost the the will to refuse.
I lost your laughter and your kisses to somebody new.
And tonight I guess...
I'll lose the rest the you.

Isn't it funny how how love songs get lost in the blues.
I lost your eyes and your smile, I los the the will to refuse.
I lost your laughter and your kisses to somebody new.
And tonight I guess...
I'll lose the rest the you.
