"UK Cross Rhythms CD Review"

David is a musician with roots in Florida and a growing career in Nashville, where this debut album was recorded. He has a Master's degree in music composition and is influenced by a wide range of composers from Bach through to Michael W Smith (his website lists his current listening as Bach, Rutter and The Beatles). David has already recorded an album of piano music to be used as therapy and four of the songs on this album appeared on a 2007 EP. It has to be said that his education has more than paid off. The music in this selection is carefully constructed and very well played, accompanying heartfelt words of witness, worship and longing. There's a good mixture of anthemic songs ("Lift Up Your Head" and "I Need A New Heart" being just two of them) and more reflective offerings, of which "Why Not Believe" is the standout track. My copy of the CD had no performer credits other than Tom Holt as producer, and he has clearly managed to get the best out of this young performer. This is well produced, contemporary music with real heart. - Cross Rhythms, Ian Hayter

"Senior Pastor Bruce Hedgepeth"

"We can't wait for David to come back for another concert for our congregation! David has a gift for engaging his audience - whether it is in a praise and worship chorus, or by connecting a song with events in life. The depth of his Christian faith shines through in his playing and in his singing." - First Presbyterian, DeLand, FL

"Rev. Darren Bess"

“David has blessed my life because of his passion for music and his passion for sharing Jesus Christ. David reminds me that we all have this treasure in jars of clay; it is the very presence of God that dwells within us and Dave shares that with powerful lyrics and wonderful melodies.“

“It has been my pleasure to know David and to collaborate on music. David is a friend, a brother in Jesus Christ to me.”

- First Presbyterian, Ocala, FL

"Pastor Luis Perez"

“David Levi is a talented musician who has a heart for God and His people. As a small rural church, it isn't often that we have the opportunity to host musicians of his caliber. Our people were blessed and encouraged. I was amazed to watch as our people flooded to him after the concert hoping to get copies of his CD.”

“David is an incredibly talented yet humble servant of the living God. Please consider having him share his ministry with you. You will glad you did!”

- Calvary Baptist, Ocala

"The Phantom TollBooth CD Review"

Lyrics are what make David Levi’s CD and the message of inspiration is throughout. The selections on this CD range from the keyboard-accompanied “Still Making Me” to a whispery “I Need a New Heart.” Levi has a clear voice with eloquent phrasing. On “Still Making Me” you know that “Jesus is still making me” and this carries through to the listener, who may bee in a slump, too. “I Need a New Heart” caught my attention with the words, “I need a new heart, so would you please come in trade you for one that’s true.? The yearning in “Only Believe,” accompanied by keyboard is subtle and states, “I will not be afraid, only believe.” In “Before I Remember,” the simple words "Thanks for giving me another day,” have emphasis. David Levi is a college-trained musician and it shows. He has good phrasing and the listener can precisely understand lyrics, so important in inspirational music. There is something for everyone here. (Copyright 2009 Marie Asner) - The Phantom TollBooth

Bio

David Levi's musical journey started at the age of six when he began taking piano lessons. Growing up, David found a place for musical expression as well as spiritual growth within his local church.

His involvement in music led to formal studies in piano and voice at Stetson University, located in his hometown of DeLand, FL. While pursing his degree, David led weekly congregational singing for several church and campus worship services.

David continued his studies at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, where he earned an advanced degree in music composition. David Levi's musical influences range from classical composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff, to Chrisitan artists such as Cindy Morgan, Wayne Kirkpatrick, and Michael W. Smith.

Levi's music is fresh, hopeful and engaging to a broad audience. His style incorporates piano, acoustic guitar, and moving vocals, which range from intimate confession to impassioned declaration. Upbeat, hooky, and radio-friendly, David's songs feature strong, singable melodies over a familiar harmonic framework.

David Levi's pop sensibility, joined with a solid musical training, provides a platform to convey the gratitude, wonder, and questions we all experience as we go through our life's journey. David Levi is a Nashville based independent singer-songwriter signed with Slingshot Records.
