David Marx & The AK-Poets

Fronted by English singer/songwriter David Marx, The AK-Poets are a brand new band from Berlin who play and perform an array of original music. While some of the material is mighty delicate, acoustic and folk induced; some of it is also lyrically and melodically explosive, whilst simultaneously drenched in drama and (rock’n’roll) truth.

Influenced by the likes of Tom Waits, The Beatles and The Clash, the band consists of Marx on vocals and rain’n’napalm infused guitar, Berliner Kai Wiegert on intricate’n’compelling stand-up, electric/acoustic bass, and Johannes Fuchs on permissive piano and sparkling, effervescent keys.

With a formidable musical history - Marx has recorded with various members of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band in New York, released three albums on the Revolver label, as well undertaken a considerable amount of session work (in London) – the band intend making 2011 their year.
