Bio
I started out w/ classical lessons at 6, discovered rock w/ the Doors when I was 11, and discovered jazz through my father's recordings of Thelonius Monk, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis and Gerry Mulligan as an early teen.
My influences are broad, ranging from the Beatles to Peter Gabriel; from Guillaume de Machaud to Erik Satie to Maurice Ravel to Lou Harrison; from Duke Ellington to Ornette Coleman to Wayne Shorter to Keith Jarrett; from early Celtic folk music to Emmylou Harris; from Turkish folk music to Antonio Carlos Jobim to Milton Nascimento.
