David Newton is, what top American comedian, Christopher Titus (Fox, NBC & ABC) calls an 'Afro-cracker'...and is 'definitely one of South Africa’s super-star comedians ’-Media 24.

Born and raised in South Africa- the land of Nelson Mandela, Charlize Theron and 'District 9', David has now moved to Hollywood to pursue his dream of being adopted my Angelina Jolie!

David Newton's debut one-man comedy special 'Defending The Laid Man' (2005) is a groundbreaking and honest look at the subject of dating & relationships, as told my a newly single man trying to make his way through the maze and confusion of the sexes. ALL DONE WITHOUT CUSSING!

The full length DVD was produced in 2005 and earned David Newton a Fleur Du Cap Theatre award nomination for 'Best Performance in a One-hander'.

'Politically Incorrect' earned David Newton a 'Stand-up Comic Of The Year' nomination in 2007.

David was one of six SA comics at the Cape Town International Comedy Festival in September 2006- performing along-side some of the worlds best international acts while scooping great media reviews, which resulted in him being asked to perform at the ‘Best of Fest’ show. David’s obvious popularity with the crowds resulted in the Festival organizers inviting David to return and be part of the line-up on the Main Stage at the Cape Town International Comedy Festival 2007.

In 2009, David Newton Productions produced the third feature length comedy DVD entitled 'Nothing But The Truth'- a 100min collaboration of the best of David’s three one-man shows (Defending the Laid Man, Politically Incorrect & Laugh)
