Bio

I write all my own music, produce, play all the instruments, and for now handle promotion and distribution. My debut CD Entrance is available on i-Tunes,CDBaby,Digstation,Musicstream,and many others. The lyrics are pulled directly from my soul. I’ve played in numerous places with many other artists all with different styles of music. When I was younger I would pull out the horn only to be joined with the ska jams or started playing walking bass lines. I was curious how most musicians and others classified horn players in such traditional roles. I wanted to cross barriers stylistically as a brass player. I had ideas of live application of effects such as wah and distortion with the horn. I believed an artist that could play so many instruments with a fresh sound would be well received. I was right. People love it when a musician can come at them from different angles.
My music breaks age and other social barriers consequentially speaking to just about anyone. The goal was to stylistically mix it up and create an original work of art with a unique sound.
My songs are about life, my life and others that touch me. Human connection is a reoccurring subject as is hope, addiction, love, loss, isolation, and the political concerns I feel. Relationships and the tribulations that arise as a result are also focal points to me when I write.
The lyrics represent my life experiences and the emotions that I feel. My thoughts on love, the government, the human condition, greed, addiction, religion, and hope are all present.
Some of my main musical influences are Jeff Buckley, Incubus, Digable Planets, Maynard Ferguson, Miles Davis, Jurassic 5, Galactic, Nada Surf, Pearl Jam, DJ Shadow and DJ Krush. Many more have been heavy influences at different times in my life. Yet, as often as I have pulled influence from these bands I strive to be as different as they are from each other. The teachings I have taken from many of these musicians were their willingness to be unique and their undertakings of constant development. I too wish to strive to that level.
Many ask what kind of music I make. I take pride in the fact that it stumps me every time. The goal for me is to be as original as possible while staying true to myself as an artist. Acoustic, rock, indie, R&B, alternative, gypsy, blues, folk, and hip hop are all used to describe my final product. It’s music that everyone can connect with. This debut album is based on the truth of human emotion.
