"RECORD REVIEW: GOLDEN FUTURE TIME... On ‘Golden Future Time’, David Ward mixes the doomy melodies of alt-rock with soulful harmonies and a beautifully fragile falsetto"

"Ward…render(s) a piece of music that hints towards a timelessness lacking in many of his peers…Golden Future Time is a bravely ambitious recording by a gifted songwriter and, despite having clear markers in the 70s’, 80s’ and 90s’, one that seems both out of time and entirely without time; as though it’s all those decades at once—or just a memory of them." "RECORD REVIEW: GOLDEN FUTURE TIME"

Anyone who melds the tenor of Stevie Wonder into the falsetto of Jeff Buckley and the yips of Michael Jackson (the results of which are tethered to waves of psychedelia) is either genius or Gubu…On paper there’s no way it should work; listening to it a few times in a row, however, it works like a dream. - Irish Times

"INTERVIEW...David Ward: ‘I’m Just Trying To Soak It All In’"

Golden Future Time is the kind of sprawling album that will stop you in your tracks. - DIY

"SINGLE REVIEW: GOLDEN FUTURE TIME...Track of the Day"

Exploratory, ever-evolving songcraft, his is a beautiful, very solitary universe. - Clash

"RECORD REVIEW: GOLDEN FUTURE TIME"

- BRBR

"RECORD REVIEW: GOLDEN FUTURE TIME...David Ward stays impressively eccentric on Golden Future Time"

David Ward stays impressively eccentric on Golden Future Time. If one thing remains constant, it’s that the dude can totally sing… - Georgia Straight

Vancouver's David Ward is garnering accolades on both sides of the pond for his latest release, Golden Future Time.

"Most likely to: Be assured of a golden future." The Guardian

Released March 2014 and supported by tours in both Canada and the UK, momentum continues to build for Ward who recently returned to the Vancouver Jazz Festival and also debuted at Victoria and Kaslo Jazz Festivals, closing down celebrations for both.

Golden Future Time follows 2012's celebrated EP trilogy, The Arrival. It's a textured brew of the cosmic and earth; a sonic exploration of the muse combining electronica, R&B, art-rock, disco and cabaret.

The album garnered rotation on CBC Radio 3 and brought Ward a host of live performance slots and airplay on college radio across Canada.

"Exploratory, ever-evolving songcraft, his is a beautiful, very solitary universe." Clash

Rooted in a respect and knowledge of what has come before, Ward looks to the future with artistry and daring.

"...the only thing stopping David Ward from becoming a household name is the injustice of the muisic industry." Drowned in Sound
