"Album Review - Hittin' the Note Magazine"

"Soulful, heartfelt roots rock, that stirs the soul and reminds you what true artistry can accomplish."
- Joe Bell - March 2010

"Album Review - SIR Magazine"

"Soulful, rootsy, rock with a heavy folk influence. If you've ever enjoyed records from Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Allman Bros., and the Beatles, then you will inevitably love the sounds of Davin McCoy. His latest album seems to emerge from a music lover's fantasy, exuding a refreshing yet nostalgic feel of simply great music."
- March 2010

"Fellow Artist Comments"

He reminds me a lot of Otis Redding, with a little bit of Eddie Hinton and Chris Robinson – he’s got that soul voice that you don’t hear too much from younger singers. His song structures are really cool too – he writes music that has a lot of hooks to it. - Randall Bramblett (Sea Level, Gregg Allman, Steve Winwood, Widespread Panic)

Most singers today are rhythm and pop, not rhythm and blues, Davin is R&B in the truest sense of the genre - Davis Causey (Normaltown Flyers, SeaLevel, The Jesters)

"Artist Review"

Drawing from a rich heritage of songwriters past and present, Davin has the ability to dance intricately upon daily pains with an introspective optimism that is both fresh and bewildering. He is a young songwriter whose talent is sure to rise with each strum and each note sung - Jamie Lee (Hittin The Note Magazine)

BACKGROUND:

Davin McCoy is a gifted young singer-songwriter from Georgia who has been making a name for himself lately with his insightful songwriting and impassioned vocals. Inspired by a diverse group of legendary musicians from Ray LaMontagne to Otis Redding, Davin's stage presence and charisma make him a captivating live performer, and now he has a studio album that reflects his many talents.

Musical icons Chuck Leavell (Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers Band) and Randall Bramblett were so impressed with Davin's raw songs that they joined the project and performed along with a borrowed Widespread Panic horn section on his new album So Good, So Cruel. Davin recorded this sophomore album in Athens, GA with longtime friend Casey Crogan on drums and producer Davis Causey (SeaLevel, The Jesters).

Davin previously worked with Clay Cook (John Mayer, Shawn Mullins, Zack Brown, Marshall Tucker) to record his first album and spent some time in London where he took up a publishing deal and continued to write and perform.

With his breakout album just released and already being played across the country, Davin McCoy is focused on hitting the road and performing fulltime throughout the SouthEast and across America.

NOTABLE QUOTES:

“Davin McCoy is a genuine artist in every sense. He is a wordsmith and musician with an insatiable appetite for insightful songwriting. He has a talent for telling the tale, commenting on the human condition from a perspective that is fresh, intelligent and occasionally wicked. He has a quiet charisma about him, compelling one to listen to what he has to say – and he needs to be heard” – Joe Bell (Hittin The Note magazine)

“Davin’s music grabs people. He’s a very strong talent, and if he keeps it together he’s going to become a great one.” – Randall Bramblett (Sea Level, Gregg Allman, Steve Winwood, Widespread Panic)

"Davin McCoy's music offers an honest observation on the dark sides of humanity, while leaving much needed space for hope and redemption. Natural melodies leave an open canvas for heavy lyrics, soulful vocals, and emotional performances. Whether solo or with the band, Davin is sure to captivate." - Colton Priest Entertainment
