It's the compelling melodies that make the hair on the nape of your neck stand on end and make Davis more than just a musical project. It is the result of patience, of perseverance, and the honouring of ones own limitlessness. Purposeful and interesting lyrics are complimented by the haunting instrumentality of the music. Primarily strong vocal harmonies, the ukelele and guitar create a masterful workshop for this project to be at home in the Canadiana/Americana folk music world. Through Davis, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Karly Warkentin, has found the vehicle from which to propel her beautifully crafted songs to an ever eager audience.
Since her childhood, music has been the main focus of Karly's attention. From studying a wide assortment of instruments to countless musical collaborations, Karly has never stopped growing and challenging herself to further breach the boundaries many have simply been halted by. Having built a wonderfully engaging and honest musical repertoire, she has spent the last two years sharing her independence as a singer-songwriter and performer.
Karly has spent several years playing in bands and collaborating with other musicians; all the while travelling the world and continuously writing new songs to share.
After garnering quite an impressive list of musical collaborations and touring efforts with such renowned acts as: Danny Michel, Ridley Bent, Xavier Rudd,Dan Mangan,James Lamb, Ari Neufeld, Justin Grounds and Dave Vertesi to list a few; Karly Warkentin has earned some stripes and is now ready to push forward on her own.

Named primarily after her mother's maiden name, Davis stands also as a symbol. It stands as a root to more understanding of where our inspiration comes from. It speaks as a gentle reminder that music can build the playground where our souls get to play.
She has found wonderful friends to compliment her new project, and is now in the process of recording the original songs which are closest to her heart.
It's time to turn down the house lights and anticipate the magic that is Davis.
