Biography

Awarded "Acoustic Artist Of The Year" by the SBMAwards, "Vision & Imagination" by Call To Arts; Davison/Coleman explores Modern Acoustic World/Folk music with their artistry - which easily crosses over into Pop, Adult Alternative, and other genres. It is centered on the duo of Lynn Davison (vocals and keyboards) and Cole Coleman (guitars and vocals). Their music incorporates insightful and descriptive lyrics, a vocal personality that is unique, and arrangements that touch on classical, Latin, jazz, and rock influences - all mixed together with a sense of experimentation. Says producer/songwriter John Shanks (Alanis Morissette, Michelle Branch, more...) "It's great. It pulls me in and takes me on a journey."

They perform as an acoustic duo, sometimes backed by a string quartet and/or keyboards and World/Electronic percussion.

The Story Goes... Lynn Davison and Cole Coleman have performed for several years together. They quickly realized there was a musical synergy between them; put together a plan for their original music; and soon were booking into venues throughout the greater Los Angeles Area.

Since then, their performances have grown to include places all over California, Arizona and into Nevada. Currently, Davison/Coleman are on a Borders Books tour appearing at locations all over Southern California. They are also making appearances on cable television, webcasts, festivals, and expos.

Lyrics

You & I And All The World

Written By: Lynn Davison, Cole Coleman

At the park on a day in October
Where the chill in the air is not cold
Children playing a game of tin soldier
Wishing time would come and make them older

Here I sit and ponder days gone by
Like a movie still unfolding
One that we can never rewind

You and I & all the world
Learn to live as life unfurls
You and I & all the world

Buzzer sounds and it’s six in the morning
All I wanna do is stay in my bed
Got a little too much weight on my shoulders
Yeah it’s hard sometimes now that I’m older

I remember things were simpler then
But a voice inside keeps saying
Where we are now will never come again

You and I & all the world
Learn to live as life unfurls
You and I & all the world

Sometimes I forget that fire still burns inside of me
Blinded by my own reflection in the world I see
Somehow I believe we live as we were meant to be
And here each and everyday
Life is a gift

You and I & all the world
Learn to fly with wings unfurled
You and I & all the world
Grains of sand becoming pearls
You and I & all the world
Learn to fly with wings unfurled

C’est La Vie

Written By: Davison/Coleman

I have finally found something to believe in
C’est la vie
Walls come tumbling down
And all that is left is you and me

Dance like a workin’ man
Sing from the mountain
Hey everybody’s got something to say
Shine Supernova
Sing Muddy Waters

And it’s Love when you’re flyin’
And it’s Love when you’re cryin’

I have finally found something to believe in
C’est la vie
Sailing out to sea
The waves crashing down on you and me

Cruise down the Autobahn
Drink lots of cheap wine
Hey everybody can make their own way
Walk through a hurricane
Bound in a set of chains

And it’s hard when you’re tryin’
And it’s hard when you’re dyin’

I have finally found something to believe in
C’est la vie
World keeps spinning ‘round
Yet still we can bruise so easily

And you think you’re alone now
And you want to go home now
But sometimes things aren’t what they appear to be

I can finally see that everything is as it should be
Sun comes shining down on all who believe in c’est la vie
We are all set free by lessons we learn so tragically
Life will always be like Bouillabaisse for you and me

I have finally found something to believe in
C’est la vie

Our Leaving

Written By: Davison/Coleman

Who would have thought we’d be saying goodbye
After all that we’ve been through together
But time marches on and we have to let go
‘Cause the future lies there up ahead

Life keeps on changing
And the road’s unclear

No one knows where all the paths lead to
Follow your heart let it guide you through
May the morning star shine on our leaving
Do the best that you can with the time
The time that you have

You’ve been a part of my life for so long
How I’ll miss all our moments together
But these memories give us a place to call home
That stay with us wherever we go

Where are you going
Will it be better for you
Try to remember

Chorus

Nothing’s forever
Winter will turn into spring
Time helps us to understand
We are changing, changing
So take my umbrella and button your coat
The storm can be vicious and cold
And always remember it’s come what may

Chorus
