Bio

Dav Julca was born on March 23rd 1983 en Panama City, Panama. He began his career at a very young age singing in the his parents church, where his dad was the pastor.

His parents are from Peru and he was born into a family where music runs in their blood. From a young age, he attended the Music Conservatory of Panama where he studied violin and clarinet, and little by little started learning other instrument like drums, guitar, and piano.

At the age of 9, Dav recorded his first record and was seduced into the world of music as a career. At the age of 12 he started a band with his older brother Jonathan Julca, called The Pits, where his main instrument was the drums. They released two records and filmed a video for their single Splitting Spirits with director and filmmaker Darren Doane (Jason Mraz, Deftones, Blink 182) Later they formed New Republic where Dav became the singer. They recorded one record with producer Matt Hyde (No Doubt, Monster Magnet, Porno For Payros)

After more than 10 years of hard work, multiple nationwide tours, rehearsals, and records as a band, he decided to attend The Recording Workshop in Ohio to study Audio and Production. Later he relocated to Mexico City, Mexico to study Music Composition at FERMATTA. Following his time in Mexico he once again relocated to Miami, FL to continue with his career as a singer/songwriter. He decides to spend some time creating, writing, traveling, and growing... never limiting his creativity and that way finding more experiences to inspire his compositions.

"Como Se Extraña" is the title of his first solo record in this new chapter of his life as a singer/songwriter with songs written in different parts of the world inspired by many different real and personal experiences. The record, which is mostly in Spanish with 2 English tracks, was co-produced in Columbus, Ohio by his brother Jonathan "Echo" Julca.

In this production Dav played most of the instruments along with his brother Echo and other great musicians and music geniuses.

At the young age of 24, Dav Julca, presents a musical production to enrich the soul, love, and life, achieving to step into the genre that he defines as "Latin Rock Soul" - a fusion of genres that accompany the romance and social awareness of a genuine musician, that explores, creates, and induces life to songs that reach our hearts.
