For their first release, outsider music label Jeff-Damn have compiled “Now He’s On The Stairs” from Philadelphia's Davy Levkovich (October 2006)
37 year old Davy Levkovich records in the one bedroom apartment where he lives with his brother Sam. The synth, guitar and drum-machine production is simple and uneven. His story is unraveled cumulatively through his songs. A chorus hints at his love of herbal remedies, a verse implies how his father died. Brother Sam is fixture in almost all of the tunes. Davy’s infectious hooks reveal a marginalized pop wizard.
Jeff-Damn is the new Label of Brooklyn wierd music enthusiast Melissa H. The company is making it their business to seek out the strangest, most interesting music nobody has ever heard of. The label plans a series of CD-R releases in 2006.
