"'Cowboys and Indians’ - Dawn Kelly & Neil Bailey’s Magpie22"

Dawn Kelly & Neil Bailey are Magpie 22 and they released their single 'Cowboys and Indians’ on February 14th (iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc).
The song starts off quite atmospherically and then keeps this theme with a great story line so the lyrics are very important in this song and need to be listened to. Dawn’s voice is very strong and the music too is excellent making for a very expressive, enjoyable and memorable song and one that will no doubt evoke a few emotions. “Cowboys and Indians… that’s a great little track – I’ve got a lot of time for that! And the Indian chants at the end are great – Magpie22 – Nice!” Adam Crowther, BBC Radio - BBC Radio Bristol Upload with Adam Crowther

"Awesomely Refreshing..."

“Awesomely refreshing retro late 60's style and places emphasis on songwriting… reminiscent of Joan Baez on the ballads…. Nice job, y'all!” - Songwriters Showcase

Bio

“Awesomely refreshing retro late 60's style places emphasis on songwriting… Nice job, y'all!” G. Mork, USA Songwriters Assoc.

Dawn Kelly and Neil Bailey (Magpie22) whip up a feast of original Americana, folk, blues and country - “It’s all about the song!” Earlier this year they spent a month in Nashville where they played at the iconic Bluebird Cafe - twice! - and were invited to share their songs at respected songwriter's venues such as Radio City Cafe, Bowery Vaults, Douglas Corner and Betty Lou's. When not working as a duo, they're joined by percussionist Jack Carver and harmony vocalist Amy Bartlett to create a lush, feel-good sound.
Their debut single Cowboys and Indians (Playing Indian) came out this year and was picked up and played by BBC Radio Bristol. They’ve been interviewed and played live on a host of local radio stations - Frome FM, Ujima Radio, Radio Shepton and Visual Arts Radio, and they were chosen by British Cycling to perform live in Bristol's Millenium Square for the national “Let’s Ride” event in June. Hugely enjoyable live, they always leave audiences wanting more.
Dawn and Neil feel that although they both enjoyed varied careers in music before they met, working together a kind of magic happens, and their songwriting is hitting new heights. They're currently finishing some new tracks inspired by their trip to America, including "Crossroads", paying tribute to the legendary Robert Johnson and Bessie Smith and "Oh Pretty Darling" featuring 'Lily' the shiny resonator guitar Neil bought in Nashville!
