Bio

The history of Dawn Vally is a long story, filled with twists and turns, name changes, member changes, and many member returns!

Dawn Vally was originally formed in 2001 under the name Blind Dream, in a small town called Dunnville, as a childhood band between brothers Jeff and Joe Bartolo, and life long friend Cody Crumb, but the Bartolo brother's move to Markham in 2003 separated the band.

In high school, they reformed the band in 2004 with Joe, Jeff and Joshua Scott, as Nice Manners. After a few members came and went, Karem joined the band in 2005 on Lead Guitar, but sadly, in early 2006, Josh left the band. After a series of name changes and even more member changes, in late 2006, Karem left the band, and was replaced by Mike Busby, and this also marked the return of Josh, but this time, on vocals. The band promptly renamed them selves, InKline. In 2007, the band proceeded to record their first EP, which was subsequently never released. And then tragedy struck; once again the Bartolo brothers were moving, this time, to Toronto, and the band was forced to disband.

In early 2008, the true beginning of Dawn Vally had come. The band reformed, consisting of members Jeff and Joe, guitarist Dylan Henthorn, and newest addition/youngest Bartolo brother, Nick, on vocals. Dylan position in the band was short-lived, but nonetheless important. They went on to record their first demo EP, before Dylan left the band to move back to his hometown of Dunnville. Late in 2008, Karim rejoined the band. In 2009 after a few months of playing shows, writing and rewriting, the band recorded their current EP entitled “Pigeon”. Sadly, and MUCH to everyone’s surprise, in early 2010, Karim left the band, again. Luckily for the band, Josh had just moved to Toronto, and quickly joined on guitar. Furthermore, another former member had just moved to the T Dot, Cody, and was quickly recruited as the 2nd guitarist.

Currently, after months of writing, the band is preparing to record their debut full length, which is currently untitled, and should be available in early 2011. So stay tuned junkies! Cause the music is coming to melt your face.

Dawn Vally's unique style of Hardcore Metal, fusing everything from Progressive to Southern, will have you dazed and confused, yet begging for more intense breakdowns and head bangable parts, that will surely leave you with a bang over in the morning!
