Dawson Carroll

Raised in Texas, Dawson Carroll played his first show at the mere age of 12. He's a friend to the stage. He grew up with music, and eventually grew up recording it. Putting out his first self-recorded EP “Wondering Or Wandering” when he was 17. The unique mixture of folk music with alternative and rock undertones sets his music and performance apart from others. Carroll’s energetic live presence is a pleasant addition to his honest writing style, and his ability to relate with the crowd.  

“I fell in love with music at a young age, without knowing it, and then I fell in love with words intentionally as I grew up,” Carroll says. “I know that I need to put out good songs, and even though it seems obvious the lyrics really are one of the most important parts in doing that, guys like Bob Dylan in the 60’s were intensely aware of that. I think it really comes down to having the ability to relate to someone, and you’ve only got so many words to be able to do that.” Out of this growing love for music and words Carroll wrote his first full-length album ‘Singin’ For Gold,’ in 2015, which was also completely self-produced and recorded. 'Singin’ For Gold' was a really fluid thing, it came very naturally. The entire thing is basically about this journey into the great unknown, graduating high school, leaving your hometown to pursue something more. For me it was more about chasing this dream, and trying to realize that I wasn’t totally insane.”

 As his passion continues to grow, Carroll says that he will keep writing and playing music, and continue to chase his dreams. “Right now what I am focused on is hitting the road, playing shows, and making this my job.”
