Bio

Born David Andrew McCrimmon Jr. on January 22,1989, Day La Crem was birthed to a military family in Fort Campbell, KY. Crem's father's profession afforded him the opportunity to travel to various places and live overseas in his early childhood. Upon his father's retirement from the Army, he moved his family back to his hometown of Fayetteville, NC, a town most notable for being the home of Fort Bragg, and the hometown of platinum and Grammy nominated rapper/producer J. Cole.

Day La Crem's humble beginnings as a musician started in the church as a drummer. He later quickly learned how to play chords on the piano. Even though Crem learned how to be a musician first, he always had a love for hip-hop. Day La Crem wrote his first rap lyrics with the help of his mother at age 5. While attending high school, Crem met a childhood friend who introduced him to FL Studio and he began producing his own tracks.

Day La Crem’s production style is heavily influenced by producers such as Three 6 Mafia, Drumma Boy, Just Blaze, and Kanye West. Whether it’s pounding 808’s, heavy bass, and synthesizers or samples from 70’s soul and 80’s pop artists with break beats, his sounds have been known to captivate audiences in clubs and during performances. The Fayetteville MC's lyrical style is influenced by artists such as Jay Z, Andre 3000, and J. Cole. Crem amazes listeners with a "witty" delivery and heavy cadence. With numerous indie production credits under his belt, Crem is geared to be a breakout artist in the independent scene.
