Bio

Daybreak Drive is a new beginning to a matured project that has evolved to naturally understand and relentlessly pursue the direction and conviction necessary to become a successful band in today’s musically saturated world. Formally known as Falling For Yesterday, the band’s fresh start is one of enlightenment and innovation and is not bound to specific genres or exclusive target demographics. Advertising themselves simply as a “modern rock band,” the members of Daybreak Drive take advantage of the ambiguity of such a broad genre by drawing upon their incredibly vast collection of influences to create music that boldly breathes new life into familiar sounds.

Hailing from Nashville, TN, Daybreak Drive officially began on the night of October 2nd, 2007 after Falling For Yesterday concluded their 4-year lifespan with a “farewell” show in their hometown. After the name change DD was able to retain all of their fans and - with the addition of new songs to their trusty online venue, myspace.com - enjoyed quite a blessing of good feedback from a rejuvenated and ever-growing fan base. This welcomed change stirred a formidable buzz among old and new listeners in anticipation of new music, merchandise and online goodies such as banners, fan contests and regular video ‘blogs.’

Daybreak Drive’s debut EP, entitled 'Prelude,' is the result of collaborating with Grammy-Nominated, Dove Award-Winning, Sony/BMG Producer, Rob Graves (Red, AnaLaura, Natalie Grant, Backstreet Boys and more). 'Prelude' chimes in the band’s new project loudly and proudly but marks only the beginning of their new musical progressions. As of January 2008 it is available for download from the band’s official myspace page.

To compliment their rich and developed writing style, Daybreak Drive is a live performance powerhouse. The very talented and surprisingly experienced members all share an impressive on-stage chemistry that can entertain any audience. Additionally, the band takes great pride in putting music first; musical integrity is never sacrificed for visual appeal. Anyone who sees DD live can agree on that.

Whether referred to as Daybreak Drive or Falling For Yesterday, the band has covered quite a bit of ground. They have shared the stage with large national acts such as Josephine Collective, Switchfoot, Family Force 5 and Cartel. In 2006, they also had the pleasure of winning the Converse Battle of the Bands at the Journey’s Backyard Barbeque and performing in the Vans Warped Tour. Additionally, Daybreak Drive enjoys a very healthy relationship with Nashville’s premiere local rock station, “102.9 The Local Buzz.” They have made a total of 9 appearances on the Local Buzz including 2 broadcasts of live shows on a special Local Buzz segment called “Local Buzz Live.” For complete FFY coverage including press under the FFY name, the Official FFY Electronic Press Kit is still online at ‘www.fallingforyesterday.com/epk.’

On April 14th 2008, Daybreak Drive began work on their first full-length LP. Funding and production of the LP is provided by the band and will be independently released and supported by the band’s many country-wide tours that are also already in the works. The album is set to be released in August 2008

As of June 2008, the official Daybreak Drive website is still under construction. However, Daybreak Drive is on Myspace at ‘www.myspace.com/daybreakdrive’ and on purevolume at ‘www.purevolume.com/daybreakdrive.
