Bio
Day-Glow has been playing for just over two years. The group formed at the Taft School in Watertown, CT, a place which spawned the likes of Trey Anastasio, Jeff Baxter, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Adam Duritz. The band began playing in the fall of 2004, when Sam and original bandmate Kaz asked Nate and Bird to play a cover of Marcy Playground's, "Ancient Walls of Flowers" for a coffee house. The band meshed well, and began writing original music. Unfortunately, Day-Glow was forced to take a hiatus for several months in early 2005, when guitarist Sam broke his wrist in a snowboarding accident. During the fall of 2005, the band began performing its music for Taft students on a regular basis, and wrote several songs before performing at Hotchkiss JamFest in the spring of 2006. Day-Glow performed a 40 minute set, consisting of: Wild Iris, Waning Wade, Plane Crash (moe.), Reprise, Lighting Jam>Wheeler Street. The band then began giving serious thought into recording an album. Before that could happen, however, lead guitarist Kaz would be forced to withdraw from Taft. Unwilling to end the music there, Nate, Sam, and Bird brought on sophomore Scott Hillman to play lead guitar. Since then, Day-Glow has perfected earlier material and added several new songs to its repertoire. The band is now working on setting dates to record their pending album, entitled "Wheeler Street", which is over two years in the making. Day-Glow's goal is to play music and enjoy the experience.
