"Rockers share music as well as bloodlines"

Brother-sister act anxious to get thier music "out-there". - Esquimalt, Goldstream, Oak Bay, Peninsula, Saanich & Victoria NEWS

""Chill out" with Dayinthelife"

"...Be sure to swing by Fernwood Square this Saturday night, for the second "Frozen Air In The Square" outdoor concert, featuring rising local band Dayinthelife...With a sound described as "vocally driven, melodic rock with acoustic roots," it's no surprise DayintheLife lifted their name from a Beatles track - Andison says the Liverpudlians are "huge influences" thier harmony-rich sound. Another factor in DayintheLife's growing success (they've already sold 800 copies of their debut EP) is that they keep it all in the family. Yep, there a young family act..." which includes: Blake Andison, his brother Lee, wife Katherine Beckett and her sister Hilary. They're all from the Fernwood area, with both Beckett sisters being former Vic High R&B Band vets. "...It sounds kinda cheesy," admits Andison, "but it really helps the chemistry-and we're definitely not going to break up any time soon!"

"DayintheLife Blow Away the Spiral Cafe"

...DayintheLife, a hot new Victoria band, showed off their impressive acoustic act last Friday at the Spiral Cafe. I had the pleasure of taking in their show at the popular, artsy coffee shop in VicWest. Though DayintheLife's sound is far from Bluegrass, their impressive vocal capabilities and their strong, accessable songwriting captivated a crowd ranging all the way from kids to teenagers to baby boomers to seniors...
...Most impressive was the undeniable chemistry between the group...
...The beautiful and dynamic songs were complimented with a rich blend of male and female vocals...
...strong, tasteful vocal harmonies...

Issued Dec 2005 - Ray France (Victoria Bluegrass Society)

"DayintheLife Rock Out at the George and Dragon"

...This was the band's first appearance at the Fernwood pub, but after electrifying the packed crowd on Saturday, it's surely not their last. DayintheLife wowed the crowd with their diverse set and their musical versatility...
...There wasn't a song played that wasn't followed by a change-up in the instrumental roster. Blake Andison bounced between acoustic guitar and drums several times in the night. Trading off with him was his wife, Katherine Beckett, who would jump on either the drums or the djembe (her african hand drum). Katherine also alternated between bass and acoustic guitar with sister Hilary Beckett. Even Lee Andison, slid over to the bass from time to time, giving his Telecaster a rest, and allowing Hilary to sit down at the piano, creating a totally different dynamic again!
...DayintheLife is building a name for themselves on campus through their highly energetic live shows, as well as their continued support at CFUV, 101.9 Campus Community Radio...
...According to Sandra McKay of CFUV, DayintheLife has been one of the most frequently requested local bands of this past fall, with their hit single "Where's Your Imagination" drawing the most attention...
...DayintheLife expects to be very busy through the end of the year and into January, before taking a breif hiatus to gear up for a spring and summer of heavy touring...

Issued Dec 2005 - Camille Hartman (UVic press)
