Bio
IN PROGRESS / Ray Lopez co-founded Day One with Jay Sweeny in 1997. They had played together in bands together for a few years before deciding to do their own thing. They added Doug Freer on Rhythm guitar who was also a lyricist and vocalist to round them out. In 2000, Dan Freer decided to join his brother’s band as a bassist, giving up guitar after over 6 years! Dan says “(FOR EXAMPLE) I really felt what my brother was doing and since they needed a bassist – it was no problem, I traded it in for a bass.” Day One decided to add another vocalist to round out the set and it was none other than NJ-shore legend, Jay Carter.
