BandChristianRock

Hailing from the south eastern parts of Michigan, this Detroit band with their modern rock sound, strives for dedication towards entertainment with a purpose for today's generation.

Biography

Wake up one morning early before the average day begins, even before the sun begins to rise, and focus your eyes to the sky as the morning sun begins to pierce its way through the commonly cool and dark night time sky.

Then as the sun begins to consume the darkness and sheds its warmth through the brisk morning air, think about the magnificence that orchestrates such a miraculous undertaking and how it relates to our own lives.

Even on the days when we wake and feel that there is nothing but cold and darkness that surrounds us, think about this: the same omni-potent Conductor that orchestrates the rising of the bright and morning star on earth, can and wants to orchestrate the same type of symphony in our very own bodies and souls. That's the same Creator that Daystar wishes to take you on a journey to worship, praise and adore.

Hailing from the south eastern parts of Michigan, this Detroit based band is composed of Ian Henson on guitar/lead vocals, bassist Joel Young, lead guitarist Dale Pittman and drummer/vocalist Brandon Husken.

Already performing throughout most of the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast in previous incarnations, Daystar possesses a unity beyond their years, knowing both what they want as musicians and as children and laborers of God. The four of them are molding their talents and beliefs toward a mission of challenging many to strengthen their faith and make it their own.

Daystar is a collaboration of two past Christian bands, Back From Nowhere and Union: Red. Both bands shared similar goals in combining their interests in music along with the desire to create something meaningful that could connect with church's youth.

Between both bands, they have played many: festivals including the likes of Alive and Lifest, retreats ranging anywhere from one day to week long events, lead worship for various churches and played numerous Christian clubs throughout the tri-state areas.

While Daystars goals are similar to our past musical experiences, Brandon says, We want to not only connect with our generation but many generations, on a level that is up front and very honest. We would love for people to connect with our music on a very personal level. Daystar plans to work with the Church, coming along and providing support and opportunity for the ministry that is already in place.

Ian continues to say, Well keep doing what were doing on whatever level it is that God takes us. As we grow, we just want to continue to be as transparent and honest as we possibly can.

Philippians 4:13 says: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The same God that ushers in the bright and morning star on earth and in us, has given our band this opportunity. We dont want to let it burn out and fade away, but rather let it continue to shine on.

Lyrics

Coming Back

Written By: Henson, Husken

Verse 1
The sun is broken through the sky, for you and I
The artist paints a picture, of beauty and light
So many reasons to believe, they’re all in history
Yet our world is blind to see

Verse 2
The son refuses not to shine, for you and I
Yet reason seems to linger, on where we need to find
What’s in store for our lives, we want to search our minds
Yet our hearts are dull to feel, our maker

Pre chorus
This faith can make us see
What’s between you and me
The world is splitting at the seams

Chorus
We want to feel free
We want to feel loved
We want to show the world that we can make it on our own
But we don’t have a clue
What we’re supposed to do
You can fill the void, that’s breaking us in two
Cuz I’m coming back

Verse 3
Help us Lord to keep in mind, about the time
And how we choose to use it, when it’s on the line
As we live we’ll surely find, it's in our own time
We can’t make it on our own, we need you

Pre chorus
This faith can make us see
What’s between you and me
The world is splitting at the seams

*Repeat chorus

Bridge
Don’t worry about tomorrow, better focus on today
He’ll cast away our sorrows, and give us peace to stay

Restore

Written By: Henson, Husken

Verse 1
I can’t begin to see
What’s in store for me
It’s you that makes me feel
With you I can do anything

Pre chorus
Because your word is true, and this is what you say you’ll do

Chorus
Empty me, tell me who to be (tell me who to be)
Give me the means to be free
Restore in me, the heart that used to be (heart that used to be)
Until it’s plain to feel (heart that used to be)

Verse 2
For years I had it fine
Saying the same line
Until you worked in me
And showed me what I need to be

Pre chorus
Before I came to you, this is what I felt was true

Chorus
Empty me, tell me who to be (tell me who to be)
Give me the means to be free (means to be free)
Restore in me, the heart that used to be (heart that used to be)
Until it’s plain to feel (heart that used to be)

Bridge
We need a restoration
Restoration from you

Chorus
Empty me, tell me who to be (tell me who to be)
Give me the means to be free (means to be free)
Restore in me, the heart that used to be (heart that used to be)
Until it’s plain to feel (heart that used to be

Bridge
We need a restoration
Restoration from you

In Motion

Written By: Husken, Henson

Wheels spinning with the wind
Moving forward everyday
Still you keep spinning towards this thing
One day hoping to obtain

All of these things, that everyone says will make you king
And in the end, when its all said your left in vain

In motion, you’re simply spinning anywhere
In motion, with no destination
In motion, with no sense of direction in mind
Dont you feel its about time?

Wheels spinning with the wind
Moving backward everyday
Catching the scenery along the way
Not once stopping for a thing

All of these things, that everyone says will make you king
And in the end, when its all said your left in vain

-repeat chorus-
