Feeling a bit camera shy

Bio

Wake up one morning early before the average day begins, even before the sun begins to rise, and focus your eyes to the sky as the morning sun begins to pierce its way through the commonly cool and dark night time sky.

Then as the sun begins to consume the darkness and sheds its warmth through the brisk morning air, think about the magnificence that orchestrates such a miraculous undertaking and how it relates to our own lives.

Even on the days when we wake and feel that there is nothing but cold and darkness that surrounds us, think about this: the same omni-potent Conductor that orchestrates the rising of the bright and morning star on earth, can and wants to orchestrate the same type of symphony in our very own bodies and souls. That's the same Creator that Daystar wishes to take you on a journey to worship, praise and adore.

Hailing from the south eastern parts of Michigan, this Detroit based band is composed of Ian Henson on guitar/lead vocals, bassist Joel Young, lead guitarist Dale Pittman and drummer/vocalist Brandon Husken.

Already performing throughout most of the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast in previous incarnations, Daystar possesses a unity beyond their years, knowing both what they want as musicians and as children and laborers of God. The four of them are molding their talents and beliefs toward a mission of challenging many to strengthen their faith and make it their own.

Daystar is a collaboration of two past Christian bands, Back From Nowhere and Union: Red. Both bands shared similar goals in combining their interests in music along with the desire to create something meaningful that could connect with church's youth.

Between both bands, they have played many: festivals including the likes of Alive and Lifest, retreats ranging anywhere from one day to week long events, lead worship for various churches and played numerous Christian clubs throughout the tri-state areas.

While Daystars goals are similar to our past musical experiences, Brandon says, We want to not only connect with our generation but many generations, on a level that is up front and very honest. We would love for people to connect with our music on a very personal level. Daystar plans to work with the Church, coming along and providing support and opportunity for the ministry that is already in place.

Ian continues to say, Well keep doing what were doing on whatever level it is that God takes us. As we grow, we just want to continue to be as transparent and honest as we possibly can.

Philippians 4:13 says: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. The same God that ushers in the bright and morning star on earth and in us, has given our band this opportunity. We dont want to let it burn out and fade away, but rather let it continue to shine on.
