Bio

Born in Danbury, CT, David James Farrell, better known as DAY (a.k.a “The Untouchable”), is one of the most refreshing new rap artists to emerge with an original sound and a very profound message that keeps his audience captivated. Although DAY attended Sunday School as a child, it was his mother and grandparents guidance that helped encourage his faith. The third of four children, DAY early discerned the call of God to ministry on his life. At the age of ten, he began to evangelize and minister the Word of God at his mother’s local church fellowship in Danbury.

DAY’s life took an unforeseen turn at age twelve. Not only did his mother and father separate by way of divorce, but his grandfather, the closest person to him at the time, suddenly
passed away. After enduring through many adolescent struggles, he decided to focus on a brighter vision for his future. At age seventeen, he graduated from high school at the top of his class and was accepted into Northeastern University in Boston, MA, where he began to discover his gift with music, both writing and producing after which DAY soon invested in his own production equipment and began working on his very first demo.

At age twenty-one, DAY began to realize his purpose. In 2001, he packed whatever belongings could fit in his car and set forth on a cross-country journey to meet his destiny that would lead him not only to the other side of the nation but the Entertainment Capital of the World, Los Angeles, CA. There, he met a new spiritual family, became born again, and began the amazing journey of living for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Determined to follow the call of God on his life, DAY was led to Full Harvest International Church (FHIC), under senior pastor Bishop Clarence E. McClendon. His many involvements with serving in the House of God include singing in Full Harvest International’s choir, completing the Evangelistic Alliance courses of instruction, serving as an Associate Minister under Clarence E. McClendon Ministries, volunteering at the ministries corporate offices, mentoring in the Young Men’s Ministry Daniel’s Posse, producing music, and acquiring a lead role in the FHIC ministry’s short film production titled “The Force of Hope”.

DAY neither forgot about nor gave up on his musical aspirations. In 2005, God opened a door for him to begin recording a second demo with producer Ru Samath from The Bird Call Productions and began performing locally throughout Los Angeles. DAY’s demo with Samath eventually nabbed the attention of Def Jive Digital Records in 2006, and he soon began working on writing and recording the EP album "Who Am I".

In March 2008, DAY, headed back to his hometown of Danbury, CT to begin working on a new series of projects with Under My Feet (U.M.F) Productions and partnered with Couffe Music, the record label operated within The Bridge, a Christian Creative Arts Center. While there, a visit to the doctor delivered
devastating news. A surgical biopsy revealed golf-ball sized tumors throughout his neck and chest. A team of oncologists diagnosed DAY with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and would undergo a rigorous seven months of chemotherapy before being hospitalized during the 6th month where he battled against the pneumonia which threatened his life right before the last session of chemo was to be administered. All during this time, DAY began writing and recording his current project titled "Psalms of David" and performing weekly at The Bridge’s F.L.O.S. event and many other venues in the tri-state New York area.

Now healed and completely delivered from cancer, DAY’s music is not only inspiring to the hearts of those who hear him, but it most importantly serves as a passionate ministry of the Gospel as well as a testimony of his walk with the Spirit of the Living God. With miracles, signs and wonders following, his
ministry has been labeled “the bridge between secular and Gospel music” and is sure to leave you inspired, encouraged, and enlightened by the Rhema Word of God. DAY was chosen as a rap finalist at the 2010 McDonald's Gospelfest in Newark, NJ and is planning to rsoon elease his highly-anticipated full-length LP album, Psalms of David, featuring some of the hard-hitting tracks “Maybe Someday”, “U Made Me Better”, and “Don’t U Forget About Me”.
