DB and the Struggle is a Reggae/Rock/Funk Hybrid Sound topped with relavent social and politcal lyrics. This band is dedicated to freedom of expression and individuallity through Soulful Reggae, Funk, and Latin Blues Sounds. Power to the People!


DB and the Struggle is one part Funk, one part Reggae, and one part Latin Blues fused with potent lyrics. Influences for the band range from Curtis Mayfield, Bob Marley, and Berrington Levy, to Infectious Grooves, Fishbone, and Sublime. Founding member and charismatic frontman, Carlos "DB" Montano started the band in winter 2006. Since then, DB & TS have been performing in and around the Central Valley and Central Coast promoting their Funk Philosophy. Their Words are empowering and their rhythms are rousing to the Soul. The Band has released their debut CD entitled "Street Scars", which is available at CD Baby.


The Street Scars album was released on August, 27th 2009. The album has gotten some air play on local radio stations New Rock 104 as well as College Radio Station 90.7 Kfsr. They are working with Trilogy Music CA. for national radio play.
