BandRockCountry

D.B. Cooper & The Hard Cash Band has a folk-style singing and song-writing with a strong blues, and rock-and-roll influence.

Biography

Dillon Boren and Tony May started the band in the winter of 2007. Since then there has been many players come and go but Dillon and Aaron Franklin have kept the train rolling. The first album was recorded at Planet Paul's Studio in Wichita. It shows there rockabilly side a little more than there rock side. Dillon and Aaron had long time friend and guitarist Chris Porter play lead on the album and at that time Artie Elmer played the washtub bass. They started playing venues in Eastern Kansas in June of 2008. It wasn't long before outsiders were getting a taste of their resurrected version of folk-rock-and -roll, and requested their performances in larger venues in Northeast Kansas. The bands major influences range from Classic Country, Rock-and Roll, Funk, Blues, Rockabilly, and Bluegrass.

Lyrics

Law Breakin

Written By: Dillon Boren

Burning eye lids are running over your ribs
You better find somewhere else to live
Not with me I don't have much to give, alright
Chinese eyes can tell no lies
You need to find somewhere else to hide
Throw you in a cage because you won't behave
All for getting high. Tell the judge
In the U.S.A. the home of the brave
You need to legalize to save
Shouldn't be a crime to sit and get high
For burning down a jay. Write your congressmen
Burning eyelids are running over your ribs
You better find somewhere else to live
Not with me. I don't have much to give, one more time
Breaking the law, we're breaking the law
Law-breaking, we're breaking the law

I'm In Love

Written By: Dillon Boren

On the highway headed for a show
She pulled up next to me, a beautiful girl
I never forgot the moment we shared
She looked over at me I just sat there and stared
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love Lord
Lord, I'm in love with a beautiful girl
A Midwest traffic jam slowing my speed
She's got that tractor topped out, just about twenty three
A beautiful farm girl with perfect form
She gave me a smile and then she flipped me the bird
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love Lord
Lord, I'm in love with a beautiful girl
Up on the stage and she's right down there
Having some fun and raising lots of hell
She knows how to two step she can cut up a rug
Tattooed all over; I like 'em kind of rough
I'm in love, I'm in love, I'm in love Lord
Lord, I'm in love with a beautiful girl
Beautiful, beautiful girl
Beautiful, beautiful girl

Drink

Written By: Dillon Boren/ Nikki Campbell

In Allen County
I had these cops after me
Guess I had to go straight to jail
All because I had to many
Fucking cops harassing me
I told em all to go to hell
Kansas City to Wichita
Topeka I've been trashed in em all
I'm a Kansas born son
Rolling hills, storm clouds moving in
Drunk, stuck here in Iola
& this is why
I'm going to drink drink drink
Drink em down
I'm going to drink, drink, drink
Buy another damn round
I'm going to drink, drink, drink
Until I fall down
Drugs and booze are slowly killing me
I guess thats where I'm supposed to be
Down in the ground, just the worms and me
But until then I'm going to drink drink drink
Drink em down
I'm going to drink, drink, drink
Buy another damn round
I'm going to drink, drink, drink
Until I fall down
I'll have another please; just one more for little old me
I'm going to drink, drink, drink
Buy another damn round
I'm going to drink, drink, drink
Until I pass out
