May 2005 - Tampa, FL

DC North has recently signed a contract with Verizon FiOS , to help promote Verizon's new product, FiOS. FiOS is the ultimate in an incredibly fast fiber optic high speed Internet connection. FiOS is now available in Wesley Chapel, New Tampa, and many other areas of Tampa Bay and Central Florida.

Verizon is using DC North's song "Heartbeat", and has shot several hours of video footage of the band DC North, whose band members include Andy & Zack Faza, who are Pasco High School students and residents of Dade City FL. , and Austin Long & Brad Jones, Land O' Lakes High School students and residents of Land O' Lakes, FL.

In April, Verizon chose the locally based band DC North to help promote their new product FiOS.

The FiOS Festival will let the community get acquainted with FiOS, and announce the winner of the brand new, Verizon sponsored, DC North music video, and hear some great live music by local bands, including DC North. So come on out and enjoy the party!!!

Extract:

"Verizon turned on the marketing charm, sponsoring an outdoor concert in suburban Tampa headlined by local teenage boy band DC North and shooting video footage of the floppy-haired performers singing their pop song, "Heartbeat." Attendees were invited to visit a nearby "FIOS lounge" where they could edit the footage to make their own video using fiber technology.

At the lounge, which looked like a space-age Internet cafe decorated in funky orange furniture, customers could try out games and other services delivered by Verizon's fiber. The strategy apparently paid off: Tampa and Verizon are talking again."

6/22/06 Brass Mug Performance

DC North exploded on to the stage, and were treated to an energized crowd nearly filling the dance floor. Their power-pop emo stylings were not wasted on this crowd. Their genre isn't one I'm normally fond of, but they do it well. This band will speak volumes to fans of early Taking Back Sunday. They are still young, but with the punch of their live show packs the sky might be the limit, and they've made at least one new fan. - James Ferreira REAX Music Magazine Issue 3 July-August 2006

Bio

Formed in Tampa Bay in 2004, DC North is a band of friends set on simply changing the world.

"Paper Street" is an attempt at the first step.

Honesty and melody are beautiful when combined correctly and the band proceeds to craft them together as best they know how. No wider spectrum of musical influences can be found within five people. The list begins with Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra, stretches to Chiodos, August Burns Red and He is Legend, and bounces back to Stevie Ray Vaughn, Third Eye Blind and Say Anything. Throw in some classical, metal, blues, add a dash of Switchfoot, Keane and The Early November and somewhere in there you are presented with DC North influences. When it's all said and done these influences combine to create a style of music that is sometimes edgy, sometimes relaxed and playful, but always recognizable. Imagine, if you would, a two headed eagle giving birth to a brilliantly colored dragon. That dragon would be DC North, in so many words.

The "Paper Street" EP is simply DC North at that point in their lives when every decision is a life-changing one, that time between young adulthood and true adulthood. Every song they write is as filled to the brim with sincerity and musicianship as they can manage. No single emotion reigns supreme on "Paper Street" within six songs lay the happiness, jealousy, excitement, frustration and anticipation that are universally shared feelings among today's youth.

Anything less than every ounce of musical prowess that DC North can muster would be unfair to the loyal and essential fan base that the band has accumulated over the past two years. These amazing kids have valiantly supported them throughout even the most trying of times. Every new song the band creates has to be better than the last one, because if they can't afford to progress physically out of Florida, there is always room for personal and musical progression. There will come a day when DC North can share their music with absolutely everyone who wants to hear it. The boys are working hard all the time, even as we speak, to make sure this day arrives.
