Bio

Terrance Lamarr Edwards aka “Rex” (a Latin word which means King), was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Coming from a broken home, Rex and his older brother moved around a lot with different family members throughout the urban parts of the city.
With no real role models, very little guidance and no direction, Rex lived the street dream throughout his early childhood. At age 19, he was charged with a capital offense and was subsequently sentenced to nine years state prison. While incarcerated, he mastered his craft of song writing and performance, in time becoming very popular among the inmates and even notable amongst the staff.
Upon his release he became “D-Con” Rex because of the stigma that has been placed upon him.
“…that’s what I am--“D-CON”. That’s something that follows me where ever I go. Not just socially but mentally as well. Don’t make me a bad person. It just is what it is…”
Within the first thirty days on the streets, he was casted for a feature role in Bloodline; a Miami based film directed by Antwan Smith. He eventually landed in Dunk Ryder’s Studio, where he worked alongside Trick Daddy & obtained a lot of first hand, industry level experience. He recently featured on “Smoke Song” with Kymani Marley on Trick’s latest album, “Finally Famous.”
Now, out on the streets, equipped with a team of air-tight producers D-Con Rex’s debut “E.O.S.”(End of Sentence-The Street Album) offers all the elements of today’s hip-hop music. From the grit and grind of street life and prison cells, to tracks with major cross-over /radio appeal; like the hit single “ Super Star” ft. Stylin, and “It’s Like Damn” ft. Skky”
“It’s 1 million ni--as inside. And they all rootin for me (us). We all they got. That’s why we wear our tags. To show that it’s not where you come from… It’s where you’re goin’. That the people at the bottom CAN make it to the top… No matter the odds.”
In the words of D-Con Rex: “This what the game been waitin’ for… I promise you!”
