"Best New Bluegrass Band"

You've probably seen these up-and-comers playing at venues such as Cervantes' and breweries in and around Denver as Deer Creek Sharpshooters grow their way into the city's bluegrass scene. With Luke Hinder on mandolin, Harrison Gaeng on banjo, Zach Hudson on fiddle, Fritz Boniface on Dobro, Daniel Putrino on bass and Josh Bergmann on guitar, this bluegrass group is now in the midst of mastering its debut album. - Westword

Bio

The Deer Creek Sharpshooters were formed in 2013 by 6 high school and college friends in Charleston, SC who came together with a common love for bluegrass and a dream to push the limits of acoustic music. Inspired by artists ranging from Del McCoury and Yonder Mountain String Band, to Django Reinhart and John Coltrane, The Deer Creek Sharpshooters are traditionally minded while keeping a strong sense of musical innovation. The players all grew up in musical environments, and have backgrounds in traditional bluegrass, classical music, and gypsy jazz. Since coming together in 2013, the hours that the Sharpshooters have put in together has allowed them to grow together musically, giving them a deep sonic connection and a signature sound. The Sharpshooters put on high energy and fun loving shows, jumping quickly from high paced bluegrass to goofy songs about cats. The energy on stage when these guys get together is infectious. After a 3 year hiatus and a move to Boulder, Colorado, the Deer Creek Sharpshooters have launched a re-energized sound. With their debut EP coming in late summer of 2022 they are on the road to WORLD DOMINATION.
