Bio

Consisting of 5 members DC Tempest has become known for having a very individual sound that is focused on a section of the market that is neither full blown indie or rock, it’s a balance of somewhere in between.

This project started up in March 2006 and has gone from strength to strength over the last 15 months. Individually, the members of this band have all played in the most prestigious venues such as Whelan’s, Vicar Street, Temple Bar Music Centre, The Spirit Store, The Village, Crawdaddy to name a few. Collectively the guys have held back from gigging excessively and have based themselves in the studio working on and perfecting their sound. The guys started performing some small gigs in Pravda and Eamonn Doran’s and have since moved through the ranks and performed in Whelan’s and The Village on a number of occasions, Crawdaddy and most recently they played Temple Bar Music Centre in a charity fundraising event for “Fighting Blindness”.

The internet has become a key player in DC Tempest’s development. They now boast a fan base of more then 10,000 people on myspace, which is rivalling some of Irelands top acts. They have also been invited to play in a number of gigs and appear on college radio in Indiana due to their rising popularity through Myspace in this section of America.

With the EP now nearing it’s total completion DC Tempest are hiring the services of Phil Hayes (mixer of Bell X1’s album “Flock”) to mix the new 4 track EP. A track from this EP was recently released to radio as part of a promotional stint for the “Fighting Blindness” gig called “Summer Solstice”. An advance promo mix of the song “Give It Another Chance” has been aired on a number of occasions in the run up to "Summer Solstice"on Tom Dunne’s “Pet Sounds” show and a request has been made to the band to circulate a number of copies of this song to the rest of Today FM’s DJs.

A mini-tour will be organised to promote the up and coming EP which is now aiming to be launched along with the new band website (www.dctempest.com) in September. The guys will still mainly be targeting the web based market with its release by launching the EP on itunes and various online ordering sites. Details of this tour will be announced in the coming months.
