Bio

Written by Candylou (PR for C4J Records Inc.)

C4J Records Inc. is a Milwaukee Hip Hop Underground Music corporation that provides Saint/Hip Hop Music. Founded in 2004, and incorporated in 2006 by Darick Spears. Its mission is to provide the world with a true untold story of a saint, through music, ministry, film, poetry, and other avenues. The daily reality of true struggles, that takes place in the wilderness of life. C4J Records Inc. provides "SAINT/Hip Hop Music" [1]

Saint Music takes it's listeners from the liquor store to the church house with deep stories about real lives searching for light in the wilderness. In Darick's words, "You'll never hear it or see it done like this again for as long as you live. It's a revival in the land."

The vision that God has given Darick "DDS" Spears is to build a company that will bring music, true ministry, lifestyle, and culture to society, by telling the honest story of a saint.
---
C4J Records stands for Crazy 4 Jesus. While thugs and hustlers look up to notorious gangsters, Saints feel like Jesus was the realest nigga to walk the face of the earth. For this reason, Darick Spears has created the C4J (Crazy 4 Jesus) slogan.

Darick Spears was born and raised in the rough Northside of Milwaukee, and he survived the gang lifestyles, the drugs, and put his self through college. While in college at Marquette University, Darick began a rap career with his stage alias "DDS", which stood for Darickdasaint. With his brothers still living the gang and hustler lifestyle, DDS rapped about the lifestyle of growing up on the rough streets of Milwaukee. He then decided to take a different approach and speak on the struggle he was having, which was the fight that stood between the liquor store and the church house. He then labeled his music "Saint Music."

DDS’s musical influences include: Tupac, Scarface, Method man, Ludacris, DMX, Jay-Z, Too Short, John P. Kee, Master P, MF Doom, Wu-Tang Clan, Twista, Nas, Snoop, Biggie, Ce Ce Winans, Whitney Houston, Common, Eminem, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Redman, T.I., Jazz, Marvin Gaye, Ice Cube, Mobb Deep, the old 50 Cent, Big Pun, Ghostface Killah, and the list goes on. DDS has been influenced by music in general, especially Hip Hop.

DDS is C4J Records franchise artist who began his rap presence at in Milwaukee in 2000, with his underground tape "DDS: The Book of Life." The tape was successful and for years to come DDS would perform and increase his work and name.

In 2006, after graduating from Marquette University in 2005 with a Bachelors degree in Communication Studies/Business, Darick "DDS" Spears, attended Columbia Chicago College's graduate program as a Music Business Concentration. While at Columbia, DDS released two mix tapes: Saint Tales Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 and received rave reviews from writer Derrick M. Hardy of College Summer 2007 Magazine [2]

Darick Spears also made appearances in Ebony Magazine's September 2006 and July 2007 issues.

In October 2007, C4J Records Inc. released it's first video/single "Recognize." This single is the first release off of DDS's debut album "Death of a Thug..Birth of a S.A.I.N.T.," which is set to release in late 2008. Columbia College frequency has picked up the video and it is receiving rave reviews.

2008 marks the C4J Records: Voices in the Wilderness Promo Tour. Recently DDS released mixtape songs on youtube that are getting high rating and views. Songs such as Pussy Patty, Jagging off, and Wild Niggaz, are just a few that are stirring up a huge buzz.
