Dead Walls

Dead Walls are a 3-piece indie rock band from Toronto, ON with a self described ‘Lo-Fi Heavy Noise-Pop’ sound. The band came together in late 2016, after drummer Yuki Saijo (whom had just moved to Toronto from Tokyo to pursue music) responded to an online ad seeking Dinosaur Jr., influenced musicians.

Over the past few disheartening years of nothing to show but writing appx. 75 songs, bouncing from band to band and almost taking a musical hiatus to enlist in the Canadian Army, guitarist/singer Jonathan Eric finally found something upon meeting a new drummer from Japan.

After adding the talented Raf Ardee- former bassist of Toronto band Secret Broadcast, Dead Walls was officially formed. Fresh off recording an 8 song demos EP ‘The RF Tapes’ the band is excited at what lies ahead.

In addition to playing local shows, applying to CMW, NXNE and hitting the road for a summer Canadian tour, Dead Walls are set to record their first full-length album in the spring of 2017, working with accomplished producer and engineer Moonand6 (Michael Chambers).

The band’s name comes from describing the small jam room they practice in, which has a tendency to dampen and kill sound. Dead Walls are three tenacious guys who ooze passion and are determined to continuously write, record and play live.
