"Jono's Rock & Blues"

Dead Cells hail from Buckinghamshire here in the UK, and their debut single Friday Feeling will be released at the end of November. I will be honest, and say that when I first heard Friday Feeling, I didn't really 'get it' but I hardly ever dismiss anything on first play through (unless I REALLY don't like it), and after listening to it a few more times, it really grew on me.

Both songs on the single are very different, and show off two very different sides to the band. Friday Feeling is a slower song, with thumping bass, a catchy riff, and great vocals. Running Man is a driving rock song, a lot more up tempo, but again with a great riff, and a chorus to get you singing along.

The band have a dirty feel, not unlike the grunge from the nineties, in fact I would compare the singer to Chris Cornell on sound, and I mean that as a compliment. It's very easy to see where the band take their influences from, but they don't imitate by any means. It's always possible to sound like someone else, but the band put their own stamp on what they do, and it works really well.

With so many bands on the circuit at the moment, you have to sift through a lot of rubbish to get to the good stuff, so take my advice and keep an eye out for Dead Cells. I wish them every success with their single, and I'll look forward to an album coming out in the near future. If you like good honest rock n roll, with a dirty sound, and great riffs and vocals, you could do a hell of a lot worse than giving them a listen.

I would give the single a very good 8/10 and I'm really looking forward to some new material from them! - http://jonosrockandblues.weebly.com

"Get Ready To Rock Review"

They’ve only been around for a few months but Dead Cells are already well up there with extensive radio airplay and a single due to be released this November.

Friday Feeling isn’t exactly what I would have expected from any band these days to be quite honest. Some people wonder why there’s such a lack of good ol’ classic rock such as Pearl Jam and Led Zeppelin these days but Dead Cells are sure to cure your withdrawal symptoms of raw guitar talent, powerful vocals and clean rock.

The B-side to this single is Running Man, a song that starts out with a very different feel to the previous song but quickly picks up pace to bring back that well-loved, simplistic, gritty rock sound.

Don’t be put off by the fact they’ve only been around for such a short time; Dead Cells promise they are not just a one-album band and I’m pretty sure they’ll continue to impress. If you’re sick and tired of all the industrialised, fancy, modern rock then bingo! This is for you.

"Alt Sounds Review"

You would never believe that this band is from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire as you would expect them to come from the deep south of America, donned with crazy mustaches, leather and swigging bourbon out of a brown paper bag. Just goes to show you don’ t have to look too far to find outstanding talent. 8/10" Ffion Davies: Alt Sounds - Alt Sounds

Bio

Dead Cells are a 4 piece Rock/Alternative band from Aylesbury, Luton & Witney.

Formed in late 2009, they're a band filled with groove laden riffs and big funky bass lines coupled with melodic well crafted vocals, influenced by modern bands such as AUDIOSLAVE and PEARL JAM to the mature standards of LED ZEPPELIN and BLACK SABBATH.

After only a handful of gigs the band received praise for their highly passionate, energetic shows and created a buzz from their 4 Track Demo EP, released April 2010.

July 2010 the band went into the studio to record their debut single: "Friday Feeling" along with B Side: "Running Man". It was released on CD & Download 29th November 2010.

The band released their 2nd single: "Here Be Dragons" (available as a free download) in April 2011.

2012 sees the band release their debut E.P. "Tear Down The Heavens".
