"[No Country Premiere] Dead Cures Debut New Single “All The People”"

One of our best new finds of the past year has been local poppy alt rock project Dead Cures. Upon our first listen, we jumped at the opportunity to premiere their debut single “Say Everything Now” ahead of introducing you to their live set at our Acme Feed & Seed showcase. The band, consisting of ex-Kink Ador bassist/front woman Sharon Kotick, Michael Kisak, and Evan Buchanan, has been generating buzz with their catchy, hook laden, sunny tracks, and have showed off their DIY mentality with their video for the debut single.

Now, matured all of six months, the band returns with another new single, “All The People,” which we are excited to premiere. The track features more of the signature sunny upbeat pop tinged rock sound, and is an exciting sign of what the future holds for Dead Cures.

Head below to check out “All The People,” and mark your calendar to see them on May 26 performing with Casey Jo & The Friday Night Dads, Molly Rocket, and Boomlights at The East Room. You can find more information about that show at the Facebook event page. - No Country for New Nashville

"Dead Cures Local Artist of the Week Lightning 100"

Dead Cures, the latest Local Artist of the Week, is a new alt-pop trio based out of Nashville. Frontwoman and ex-Kink Ador founding member Sharon Keltic says, “Trios have the power to create a live synergy that you don’t find in larger bands.”

The Dead Cures achieve this deliciously with a distilled potent sound full of ’90s inspired drum grooves, punky Police style bass riffs and melodic enlightened guitar playing, all topped with harmony laden female vocal leads. Hear their debut single “Say Everything Now” all week on Lightning 100 and watch the DIY video here. - Lightning 100 Nashville WRLT

"See Dead Cures' GNR-Inspired DIY Video for 'Say Everything Now' [Fresh Vid]"

Hey, remember the electro-tinged rock trio Kink Ador? Sadly, their solid full-length turned out to be their swan song. But don't let that get you down: Bassist-frontwoman Sharon Koltick informs the Cream that she's got a new trio rolling with Michael Kisak on guitar and Evan Buchanan on drums.

They call themselves Dead Cures, and they pick up about where Kink Ador left off, adapting big, sweeping pop for a punchy rock trio. To introduce themselves, they passed along the self-made video for their debut single, "Say Everything Now." It gently pokes fun at the idea of slick and grandiose videos, though getting blown around in the wind and repeatedly photobombed by cyclists wasn't exactly what they were going for to begin with.

"Every attempt at being glamorous failed in a fun way," says Koltick in an email. "But at least we got some lovely shots of the waterfalls at Rock Island, Tenn., and some expansive sky views at the airpark on the East Side (inspired by Guns N' Roses' 'November Rain')." Check it out after the jump. - Nashville Scene - Nashville Cream blog

"Kink Ador Video Wins Film Festivals"

Animal by Kink Ador

Kink Ador's video Animal, directed by Skyler Proctor, has won several film festival awards this year, 2010. This is a testament to the beautiful simplicity of the video. The video puts the focus back on the artist's musical performance of the song and does not dillute the mood and meaning by imposing a false storyline onto the video.

The main visual theme of the video is the silhouette, and the movement of the musicians in each scene. The song Animal is about the journey from slavery to freedom, whether that is a self imposed slavery, physical slavery, or societal slavery. The main objective was to let the lyrics tell the story, and let the visual create the mood. Plus, this is just a great rock song, by a great rock band.

Award and Screening List for Animal

2010 SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival: Selected for Festival Screening, Providence, RI

The Dead Cures have a distilled potent sound full of 90’s inspired drum grooves, punky Police style bass riffs, and melodic enlightened guitar playing, all topped with harmony laden female vocal leads. The band cut their teeth touring and recording in other indie rock bands across the US and Canada. The Dead Cures is Sharon Koltick on bass and vocals, and Michael Kisak on guitar, with a touring drummer.

Recently Dead Cures was featured by the NPR Tiny Desk Contest during the Summer 2016 tour stop in Nashville, TN at the Basement East. You can also hear the band's single "Say Everything Now" on radio Lightning 100 WRLT in Nashville.
