Bio
To say that the members of Dead Drive Fast come from different musical influences is an understatement indeed. But it is that well rounded product of rock, funk, punk and blues that helps create the end product which is something completely new that has been missing from the modern music scene for a long time. Great stage presence and a dynamic show coupled with a brand new, raw rock sound are key elements to the growing popularity of Dead Drive Fast. It is this popularity that has led to shows at some of St. Louis premiere venues such as The Pageant, Mississippi Nights, Pop's, Off Broadway and Cicero's just to name a select few.
In the fall of 2006, Dead Drive Fast released their second full length album 'Something About October' to significant acclaim almost immediately. The title of 13 song disc is a reference to significant events in the band members lives. The first single 'Los Angeles' has created an immediate buzz - a remarkable 2000+ listens on their myspace site 2 weeks after it was released. Soon to follow was a marketing agreement with MTV, as well as becoming a regular top 10 artist on ichannelmusic.com. Dead Drive Fast has also enjoyed the recognition and praise of many local radio stations such as 88.1 KDHX, 105.7 The Point and 97.5 The Rock of Southern Illinois. Here are just a few words from critics:
"Dead Drive Fast is a band that's going somewhere and that place is success! They rock!"
-- Joey Lauren Koch -Music Coordinator, MTV
"Dead Drive Fast music is raw rock with occasional tense undertones and wherever they go musically, they take you with them." -- Ken Williams, Music Director, iChannelmusic.com
"I really like Dead Drive Fasts music! Their dedication to making great music is first rate, and in my estimation, it is only matched by a very select few bands!" -- Mark Lush, Midwestbands.com
"Something About October" looks to be one of the strongest rock releases coming out of St. Louis this fall." -- Vintage Vinyl
