Bio

Frontman Joshua David Sinai began his music career just out of high school with a development deal with Atlantic Records. After forming the band Oblivion and releasing an assortment of singles and a self titled EP, the band signed to Milk Records(an independent label based out of Omaha,NE) and released the critically lauded full length THE END OF RADIO in 2004. following the dissolvement of that project Joshua moved from florida to the D/FW area and formed ENEMIES. ENEMIES played a variety of texas venues, released a series of cybersingles, and were once described by the DALLAS OBSERVER as being a "memorable" live show fueled by Joshua's "pomp, piss and vinegar".
Along with ENEMIES drummer "Dago" Matt Smith, Joshua formed THE DEADPAN POETS in 2012. Now including THE FUNERAL DRIVE guitarist Shane Heffernan and former FUNERAL DRIVE bassist jeffery price THE DEADPAN POETS play a bluesy, aggressive form of rock n roll and blue-eyed soul. Their energetic old school live show features the PJ HARVEYesque "Loose Change Blues", the scathing grunge/funk of
'Hey Son", the LEADBELLY inflected dirge "County Line Road", and a series of reworked interpretations of cover songs as diverse as "These Boots Are Made For Walkin" by NANCY SINATRA, "Stepping Stone" by THE MONKEES, "Papa Was A Rollin Stone" by THE TEMPTATIONS, and many others that will sprinkle the set of original poets material on any given night. Veering from raucous rock n roll to electric folk to SONIC YOUTH style space rock to imaginative cover arrangements THE DEADPAN POETS are a musical experience cut from their own mold.the recent additions of keyboardist neal malley and kristen lindsley on viola gives THE DEADPAN POETS a full, tight live show and ecclectic sound
